Well.. We're about to lose one of the best corner in football thanks to Dak's contract.. Kind of hard to build what we need with that contract looming.

thanks the zeke's contract. and that's provided they even want byron back, which it hasn't really sounded like they do.

Hard to say. The push off helped. In real time I didn’t think he needed to do it. Either way I don’t blame Jimmy for that.

I think you can look at the game and find situations where you say, Jimmy missed or he could have been better but I agree, not on that throw. To be honest, I actually think that Garoppolo outplayed Mahomes, right up until the 4th Qtr. To me, that's on Shannahan but whatever. He lost and that's the bottom line.

I agree with the OP.

The Cowboys have won about 50 straight games where they have a 7-point or better lead in the 4th quarter. They haven’t choked away a 4th quarter lead in over 6 seasons.

Dak is a big part of that. If they had a 10 point lead with 6 minutes left they would have held on for the win.

Frank Clark with the shade....................

“He’s gotta throw the ball. Obviously he didn’t do that. They threw for about 200 yards on checkdowns; that ain’t enough to win a game against us.”

How many 4th quarter drives did Dak have this season that ended in wins? Now he's gonna pull one out in the SB?

Saints - down 2 points 1:40 left. Interception ends game.
Vikings - down 4 points 4 minutes left. Dak leads us down the field and doesn't convert on 4th and 5 at Vikings 14 yard line.
Patriots - Down 4 points 2:30 left. Dak looks to lead us on our first winning drive. The big tripping penalty negates this series and we can't overcome the 10 yard penalty.
Eagles- Down 8 points the one to send us to the post season. We get to the Eagles 20 yard line and stall ( like usual ) ending with Dak throwing an incomplete pass deep to Gallup.

Here's why Dak won't sniff a SB. Good defenses own him even in years he puts up good stats on paper.

Garrapachoke was horrid, a lot of dinks and dunks and an occasional nice throw.

I’m still perplexed how Emmanuel Sanders got passed the Chiefs secondary. Garrapachoke really blew that gift with a huge overthrow. With the money Garrapachoke making, It’s a throw he has to make even if it’s short a yard.
Without making this a Dak bashing thread -- Dak missed a few those himself towards the end of the year. Shoulder not good, but those bombs are not a gimme.

No but we're losing a big athletic corner that can shut down an opposing teams WR.

You guys overrate a Corners ability to get a interception. I remember when Deangello Hall was all the craze on this forum back in the day even though he used to get beat like a drum.

Their first job is to not let the WR catch passes and run rampant on the defense. Anything after that is a bonus.

The guy doesn't get targeted much either. Jaylon Ramsey doesn't get a ton of INT's .. I wonder why...

I bet hes had more in the last 2 years and in his last 4 years. Jones isnt even in the same hemisphere as ramsey. I have watched jones perform just fine over the last 4 years but I have also seen him get victimized plenty. Thats not saying hes a bad corner but if Im faced with having to lose him or lose Prescott its bye bye Byron. Again i dont think he is going anywhere not unless he tries to stick it the jones back end which is possible.

And tell me this given how pathetic Awuzi can be which one would you target as an offensive coordinator? I think its that you dont want to see Dak as starting QB next year more than anything just admit it.

Those bombs aren't gimmes for sure, but Jimmy G was 1/9 on passes of 20+ yards, that's ungood

I don't care about Byron Jones "production". I care about his ability to take out a teams top wideout when they are lined up on him.

You guys want Dak to have the 49ers defense yet we have a guy at Corner that is better then anything they have and we have to wave him goodbye.

It's going to be hard to build this elite team with Dak's contract.
Byron Jones is not better than Shermouth. Sorry bud.

If he had a running game that didn’t disappear when teams stack the box it would help. Crappola’s running game faces more stacked boxes and they can’t still run effectively. .

I'd give Mr. Dak Clutch 50 million a year from this talent level he posses here below...:flagwave:

Ironically, that IMO, is why San Fran lost. They were carving up the Chiefs and decided to switch gears and pass 3 times in a row.
