I've tried to keep an objective opinion about this matter, but the more time that passes, the more he says, the more his fans say, and the more I recollect on Dak's play, I have come to the conclusion that he should be somewhere else in 2020.
It all comes down to results, and for Dak to be demanding big money, despite missing the playoffs in 2019 and not producing when the games mattered, it shows a lack of maturity and a mindset that I believe will be detrimental to the team.
Only in Dallas would a quarterback who loses half his games be coddled to the extent that he thinks he should be one of the highest paid players in the NFL.
I hope the Cowboys offer him the non-exclusive tag and another team offers him more, and he gets to see what playing for another team is like.
Why do fans believe everything the media spits out or less than half of an interview which they spin it the way they want. Logic goes out the window, along with common sense. It is a game between Jerry and Dak as it is with all QBs and there teams. Just look from a logic point of view, if Dallas franchises Dak and transition tag on Amari then they use some 55 mil of the cap making it difficult to sign many of other guys they need to sign, not impossible. If they sign both the likelyhood that those cap numbers will be much less is almost a given. Letting Dak sign elsewhere means basically throwing away the season where I would bet you that is the last thing Jerry or Stephen are willing to do. Best thing would be ignore all until March 10th.

I'll just post my thoughts here about all these threads that seem to want to overall everything , Dak should go , cost to much and all the others that want big changes.

IMHO I don't want make to many player changes hoping it remains somewhat the same , obviously there are going to be changes but if we can keep it close to what exists then we will be able to elevate whether this coaching change mattered , or not.

Next year will be telling if we have the similar core group as this will be a big tell if we are taking a step forwards or backwards , if we go 6 -10 next seson then nuke the whole thing and start over , if we go 10-6 miss the playoffs just cuz then I think we will really have a better idea of what needs to be fixed to take it to the next level.

It tells me you are blind about 60% of the time and we haven't put together a quality offense and defense in the same season in a long while.

Lol right. Not showing up in the 1st half almost every game. The offense is part of the reason for those losses. They really didnt show up much when they did they were good.

How would you know with such poor coaching ad defense? The stats bare out the truth here. The offense is not the problem. With a new coaching staff and a renewed commitment on defense, the offense will lead this team far into the playoffs.

The offense was part of the problem but not the main one is my point.

The defense wasnt that bad really. It's getting overblown.

How Dakota, his Agent and Publicist (and some fans) talk about Dakota's skills and "facts"

Big fail.
At this time last year, no quarterback in the league had led more game-winning drives since 2016 than Dak Prescott.

:omg:
Reality....

Derek Carr has the same number of game winning drives as Dak since 2016. Both have 14. And Carr has 13 4th qtr comebacks to Dak's 8.

Russell Wilson has 15 game winning drives and 12 4th qtr comeback since 2016.

I just hope all this contract drama is due to the Jones checking Virtual vs Reality. If a happy medium can be agreed then great, if not, we should not be afraid to move on using the correct resources (tag, trade, etc)

cue reply with "troll" name calling on it in 3...2...1..

It's not a problem in and of itself. It was crippled by poor defense and poor coaching. Fix those and the offense will be fine.

Lessee he QB's the top offense in the league, no 6 in scoring, has a personal career year and almost has a Dallas cowboy record passing year. Sorry he don't produce defensive turnovers, sorry he doesn't kick field goals, sorry he doesn't punt, sorry he had Garrett as his coach.

I'm hoping coaching was the downfall of the defense also. If not this team us in trouble. Let down for sure from 18-19

In the same time frame Matthew Stafford and Drew Brees also have 15 game winning drives and 11 4th qtr comebacks. (I didn't see a need to check every QB since some were out with injuries and others haven't been starting for four years.)

Anybody wants to check, here's the link....

Yall need to get away from siding with ownership here. Stop believing every little thing that is leaked in the media. Chances are it's from ownership and they are negotiating. We're a year into this thing and yall still aren't understanding what the going rate is for a good starting QB in the league. I'm not talking about a Top 5 guy. We're talking a good starting QB and that is what Dak is. You can win with him. As soon as he signs his deal, it'll get surpassed shortly afterwards. How'd you like to be the Titans and having to decide whether you're going to pay Ryan Tannehill, and he's gonna get money yall think Dak deserves and we know Dak is a much better player. I'm already over this offseason.

:hammer:

Sadly....I don't see another team dumb enough to even offer him Kirk Cousin money.

I could end all this in 2 seconds!

I'd just call the QB in, say this is how much money we have.
These are the people we have to sign.
Go make these guys happy.
And I'll make you happy.

How many of them gonna want to face their teammates with that news?

Where has Dak ever said he wanted to be one of the highest paid players in the NFL? He said in an interview a few months ago that he doesn’t want to be the highest paid QB because he doesn’t deserve it. He pointed out that he’s never won a championship. Some of you need to stop listening to all these reports. Romo went 8-8 three straight seasons and was paid what the QB market was set at during that time. If you think the 500 season we had was all on Dak then you weren’t watching the games. His improved play and production was one of the only bright spots this past season.

It's like DLAW said last year. It's not his problem to get everyone paid. Stephen conceded that fact and ended up making DLAW a rich man. If you think these players give a damn about everyone else getting a fair share of the money, think again. Your way as you just described it won't work.
