Go Dez.

I believe you could be Comeback Player of the Year if you get on the field.

I believe Dallas at least owes you a tryout if only to decide your status. If it is not for them
..then for some other team to evaluate.

As our greatest WR in history, you are owed that.

You guys with your Dez hate make no sense to me. If you want to hate Dez,fine. But remember Jerrah loves him.

Don't be surprised if Dallas does give Dez a closed secret workout to make their own decision.

We'll see.
I was with you until you said Dez is the Cowboys greatest receiver........ however I did give you a like because everything else was spot on.

I think there is some truth to your post but the simple fact is, Dak Prescott is still afraid to throw to a receiver that is covered. Dez was one of the best wide receivers in the game at coming away with catches while single or even double covered. Tony would throw the ball up to Dez all the time if he was being smothered and Dez would make the play. That's why Dez play faltered when Dak took over. Dak didn't realize that Dez wasn't a route runner who was gonna be wide open every play. Dez was a guy you just throw the ball to no matter how many guys were covering him. Dez needs to find a way to play with a great QB. I think him and Rodgers would thrive together.
I disagree with your comment about Dak being afraid to throw to covered guys and it's not a simple fact.

And let's not forget that parting shot McClay took at him about him not getting separation. Why would he want to come back to the Cowboys?

His heart is really with the Cowboys, that was always his life time dream and still is.
I thought he blew it with turning down the Ravens offer as I guess he overestimated his value around the NFL. Never got another chance a big contracts afterwards, especially after
the Achilles injury

The question is why would McCarthy want him?

Randall Cobb who’s our third receiver had 10 fewer receiving yards in 2019 than Dez had in 2017 and he was our number one receiver. Dez was having trouble separating from average corners the last time we saw him play. His ability to come down with 50-50 balls had declined by then. An Achilles injury is probably the toughest injury to come back from for a WR. Dez can post all the videos he wants of him running around, that’s not going to convince anyone to sign him. It’s not like he’s gotten faster or his route running his improved the last two years of inactivity. The only chance he has of playing next season is in the XFL.

I honestly starting to feel sorry for Dez.........never seen a player wanting to reunite with his old team this bad.

He’ll be happy to take a supplemental role and will probably play for cheap in a desperate attempt to get one last opportunity. It was reported the Ravens offered him a two-year deal before the 2018 season and he turned it down. Reports were other teams were interested in him but he turned the offers down because he wanted to bank on himself with a one year deal. I said at the time he was making a huge mistake. When the Saints signed him late that season they wanted him to lose 10 pounds so he was clearly out of shape. No doubt in my mind that contributed to the injury he suffered in his first practice.

He’s 31 and is coming off an Achilles injury he’s not going to have the speed to be a threat as a punt returner. He was never a speed burner to begin with but earlier in his career he played faster than he timed. By 2017 it was evident he wasn’t playing as fast anymore, which is why he was struggling to separate from average corners.

Throw a vet minimum offer at him and see what happens. Maybe even wait until it's not guaranteed in Week 2. Not a lot to lose and I'm sure we're his first choice. Not sure Dak can use him effectively but worth a shot.

Don’t know why Dez keeps lobbying to come back to the Cowboys it’s not happening! One of the main reasons they moved on from him was because he and Dak had no on the field chemistry. They were having trouble getting on the same page because of Dez’s inability to run precise routes. A few weeks before Dez was released Stephen Jones talked about the chemistry issues between Dez and Dak.

I don't know where a guy who has diminished raw ability and was never a precise route runner gets a job in a modern NFL offense honestly. Beyond being like a 4th/5th receiver for depth.

Peak Dez was very good with Romo, a guy who was good at (and often just HAD TO) freelance. But he's way past his peak, and as far as I know doesn't have technical ability to fall back on now anymore than he did in 2014 (!)

I don't hate Dez like a lot of people but I kind of just don't see how it adds up to anything to have him come back.

The thing not being talked about is what is Dak's and Dez' relationship? Stephen once hinted that Dez was getting in Dak's ear and it made Dak a little uncomfortable. For this reason I'm not sure Dak would be in favor as much as I'd like to see a reunion happen.
