I kinda now think it will and should, even if no fans at games, The Nfl makes most of its money off tv contracts,
and they lose all that money if they dont play the season.
The owners would have to pay players out of their pockets.
I am guessing the players would be paid something if no season, but maybe not.
Imagine them filing for unemployment !

I think it would be good for the country if the games went on, and even put more games on network tv for this one season.
Like every sunday have dbl header.
Players travel in private planes so think they would be at too much risk. Maybe have more than one plane so it isnt too crowded.
I for one would like to see the season start on time and be a full season.

Realistically they can probably wait until the last week of July to start training camp. Would give every team 4-5 weeks of training camp + 1 preseason game the last week of August. So you’re looking at roughly 116 days until then? Sounds fairly reasonable to me, but unfortunately we can’t discount the possibility of a turn for the worse.

I think we are a little early to making these predictions and we are in a time where none of us really knows. I think the season goes on, but not sure it starts on time. At this point, I do believe we will get a full season in...even if it means they push the ending back some. But, we are in a time where no one really knows because we have never been in a situation quite like this and I think the next month will be telling on what happens going forward.

The NFL season coincides with flu season. COVID-19 will probably be respreading around then, at least according to experts. NFL will probably try to go but as soon as a player tests positive, expect it to go the NBA-route.

...at this rate...Hellzz no. Luckily, season doesn't start till Sept. Dont be surprised if 2020 is cancelled. This is crises no one saw coming. The Black Swan as he likes to appear from time to time.

There will be football this year. Count on it. There may not be people in the stands, but there will be football this year.

as much as I love football and my Cowboys, until the nation is clearly recovered, I don't see games being played...not under these circumstances. It would be very bad optics for the league. THAT SAID, Lets pray that this thing is vanquished before August so we can go about our lives and MAYBE have sports again.

They could play in empty stadiums and require a clean test to play or be involved with the team. A lot is going to change in 4 months.

I am beginning to believe that the 2020 season will be lost.
I really don't see this turning out well for the players or the league at this point.

As of now, I can't imagine the NFL opening the season September to a full schedule. Of course, a lot can happen in six months but I would think they'd have to make some sorta decision/announcement 30-60 days after the draft. Just curious how you guys see this playing out.

1. The season starts on time w/o delays 2. The start of the season is delayed with a reduced schedule ( maybe 12 games )
3. NFL 2020 season is canceled
hoping and would be all in support iof it did..its a long way off and even with a shortened TC and PS I think they can get ready..

exactly how I anticipate it going..thats why a lot of rookies wont get a lot of time early..its why looney will most likely start over McGovern at C and Cwill maybe at G because they know the offense and dont need much time to get ready..the others can work in slowly..

I also believe we will have some type of a season but it will be short and a kind of a playoff system like a post earlier with more teams then normal. maybe some games without fans. sure is a very scary time for the country right now with everything on hold just hope that the country can get back to some kind of normal before the end of the year and we can worry only about sports again.

Just to follow up on this: Dr Fauci confirms likelihood of a fall outbreak so don't go mortgaging your house on tickets just yet.

OTA’s, camp, pre season and regular season are likely to be pushed back at the very least

I expect the season to start on time. There is so much money involved. They can care less about some less or more people dying.

You could be right.......maybe empty stadiums but I think the real clue will be NCAA (college football ).

This is my fear. I’m no epidemiologist and I don’t want to provoke the mods, let’s just say my fear is a season that starts then has to abruptly end in December.

The truth is that no one knows, all we can do is pray.

I hadn't even considered the effect this will have on the NCAA.
They will lose billions of dollars in revenue. They can't justify playing when they are sending students home from dormitories and only having online classes.
