Impossible! I've been told here that McClay is incapable of error.

All good picks are McClay.

All bad picks were from those no-good scandals Garrett and Marinelli, who made the picks when McClay was out of the building helping elderly women cross the street.

If you want to blame McClay for rubber stamping Garrett and Marinelli's bad decisions, have at it. You're right. But make no mistake about exactly where those bad decisions came from in the first place.

McClay's mistake was choosing the wrong side in the arguments.

What a complete loser this guy is. Terrible pick. How do you sit down with him pre-draft and not pick up on his lackadaisical attitude?
The same way jg and co. play pets over the competition or how certain players and scheme are liabilities yet they remain a part of the team. For taco to be removed so early he must've been an absolute pos of a player or was "too passionate" for them.

The biggest crime was anyone ever allowing Marinelli to be 'done' with the player he advocated for drafting over the scouts research and input. And then he did the same with Hill.

Hey pal, when they're 'your guys', they're your guys and your fates are intertwined. You shouldn't get to be 'done' with any of them, they're all a reflection on you. If they're 'done', you're 'done'.

Too bad so much damage was also clearly done.

What a doosh - and we could’ve had Watt. Our FO blows and sucks at same time.
I could be totally off base, but seemed as though Taco was a bone thrown with full trust at Marineli.
RM sunk this defense with that pick, how do you draft that player after sitting down with him in an interview?

Jerry told Taco on the phone that Garrett really went to bat for him.

It's vindication seeing both of them fired and now someone else's problem. And knowing that we were right.

The trouble is that now this team is left picking up the pieces of their awful decision making and rebuilding a defensive line driven into the ditch.

While TJ Watt continues on a Hall of Fame career path...

He had a good agent who prepared him well for the interview process. Also, it's possible that the UM coaches weren't entirely honest with NFL scouts. There seem to be quite a few flameouts recently from the vaunted Don Brown defenses (look at Jabrill Peppers, who became a tack on item in the big Odell Beckham trade after only 2 seasons). Maybe there's a lot of sunshine pumping in Ann Arbor by the staff to get kids drafted higher (which can help boost their recruiting efforts since on field success hasn't contributed a lot).
