I think you're still falling for that Garrett play fake from his Thanksgiving classic. lol What a game!!! What a performance!! Still thinking these 2 coaches are in the same boat? If you don't see a difference you're just being stubborn. This isn’t rearranging the deck chairs this is a much better coach which will translate to a better team. You see it already in every aspect specially the biggest asspect! There’s a real coach in charge. More freedom and say than any coach since Jimmy. A front office who is actually buying into a plan. Something we haven’t seen in a very long time! And in turn I’m guessing we’ll see a team that hasn’t been neutered on a regular basis.

Honestly, I had no clue what you meant. We don't hear this same rhetoric every season. Go read Anthony Brown's comment again... "breath of fresh air". That's not been said about any Garrett Training Camp.

I don't see how you can say that Garrett and McCarthy are comparable coaches. One coach has only 2 playoff wins in his entire career and the other has 10 playoff wins, including a Super Bowl championship and 4 NFC Championship game appearances, somewhere Garrett never reached. McCarthy is superior to Garrett in most categories when it comes to coaching. You have your opinions Idgit and I respect them as I think you're a great poster on this site, but your defense of Garrett is quite puzzling.

What it tells you is about the clear delusion of the poster. Anyone still attempting to defend Jason Garrett succeeds only in looking like a fool. And some would rather continue doing that than to admit that they were absolutely wrong about him.

The only one that could possibly have qualified as a "breath of fresh air" would've been his first as HC, but since he took over mid-season, even then it would've been an odd thing to say. There are plenty of ways to knock on Garrett, but comparing the way players felt about his first training camp vs. anyone else's isn't one of them.

If the FO wasn't buying in to Garrett's plan, why was he here so long, despite his lack of playoff success? I'm glad we moved on from him, and I look forward to seeing what MM can do with this team, but this particular point of view seems wrong to me.

Amari cooper explained the problem eloquently after a game in which he scored a td. He said wr's ran stop routes, turned around, and waited for the ball. But he explained defenders knew that was the cowboys go to play and were just sitting on the wr's. Finally, in desperation, cooper told dak he was going to run a stop and go and damn the play called. It resulted in a td. That was an example of jg's obtuse nature.

You're right that McCarthy has generally been a bit more successful. I had thought the two teams had probably performed similarly, but that the Packers had an obvious advantage at QB, but over quite a few season, there is a statistical difference between the performance of the two. It’s wider than I had thought it would be.

I would say that respect carries a lot of weight.
Players didnt respect JG because they knew he was a fool.
When you have respect like MM, then you have a relationship with your team.
JG never had that, but MM established that the minute he walked in.

because Jerry gave it every opportunity! the Garrett situation was exactly what he wanted until he couldn’t sell it any longer. Even in 2010 how can you buy into a coach who was part of the problem? Because you already saw Jerry’s plan in action in 2007. Garrett was hired on day 1 to be the long term HC. The perfect puppet. McCarthy is not that guy or that situation! And with no success at all what kind of plan do you actually have? You watched for 10 years. How’d that “plan” look to you? It was a joke.
