Yeah and I mean we started off 3-0....won our Super Bowl the first 3 weeks of the season. Its a marathon. Gonna give Mike the benefit of the doubt. I think we are so use to Garrett that we expect for this ride to get worse but it its a new staff and a much better head coach. He's earned the right to get us out of this.

After a decade of excuses being made for a never-was of a 'head coach', I'm not about to write off one that's actually won a Super Bowl, after one disappointing game.

It looked like the same ole Cowboys which in itself sucked and then you have all the other stuff going on and it just makes for bad TV.

I'm guessing their ratings are going to plummet. Fantasy Football is probably their biggest thing they got going to keep fans attention.

they are charging the highest prices for ads during games that they ever had because record ratings are expected.

The 25 yr number is not open for interpretation. It is what it is and is not subjective. "Justify" is used with subjective opinions, not cold hard facts. And I would rather be terrible but at least win it all every 12 years years. We have all lived the alternative...
But the 12 years ago scenario doesnt guarantee you will ever win it again. Nothing does. So in year 13 you may be only a third of the way to winning a SB again. Or a year away.
The Eagles fans used to justify their misery with talking like this. They said they are miserable because they have never won a SB. Then they did. Now a few years later they don't care that they won a few years ago. They care only about the fact that they were up 17-0 and then lost by 10 the a team without a mascot.

The past is the past. I see no reason to pretend anything that happened to this team 25, or 20, or 10 years ago has any impact on how the current team makes me feel about our chances this year.

I tried to get into it yesterday but just couldn’t do it. Then last night I watched the entire game and at the end just felt like ...... who cares? I used to get upset after losses. Not anymore. Anyone else feeling the same way?

1000% agree. For over 45 years I used to get into fights (ny cowboy fan) , scream at the tv, throw things, punch holes through doors (romo lol), losses would stick with me for at least 3 days. Every DC game was an event in my life. Now, I could care less. I was texting my buddy who’s a huge cowboys fan during the game and told him they would lose the game no doubt. I will always be a Cowboys fan but I have almost zero interest anymore especially after last night. The only hope was all the fluff of the off season and the new coaching staff and that all went out the window with the same exact scheme and vanilla plays from KM. D Law is useless and the whole D line is slow, undersized, except for that washed up Poe and not well coached. They should all take a lesson from the guy who hasn’t played in 5 years and was better than the whole defense put together!

Now, I will try and reset for Atlanta. Lol

I guess the difference between us is that it is unacceptable for me for the team to go 25 yrs w/o reaching NFC championship. I still hold our team to being the gold standard of the NFL, but every fan is different. My high bar of excellence will always be present when judging this years team, last years, or the team 25 yrs ago. I guess if you get used to losing for decades, your bar for "success" gets lowered accordingly. Hey we're all fans.

Thats not the difference between us. I agree that it is unacceptable to go 25 years...heck its unacceptable to go 25 years without winning a superbowl in my mind.
The difference is that I realize that if we went to the NFC title game 18 years ago or 13 years ago I would still feel exactly the same this morning with our chances this season.

since they are 8-10 in their last 18 games, I need, for a few weeks anyway, to record the games and only watch if they won. It was a chore to sit through that last night

The crazy thing is that the fans care FAR more than the players and coaches. That is sad really

I understand how you feel. Im a fan for 50yrs Im starting to feel the same way. For me its a few things. I dont want to get suspended from here but one of them is at the start of games. Really tired of that. The second is that the game has changed so much over the years with penalties and the extra protection to QBs the refs have to much outcome in games. Than you have the same story with us year in and year out. Garrett being here 10 yrs when anyone could see he wasn't the guy and wasting years of talent of not even sniffing a Championship game gets old after awhile. Look at the Company we are in. I believe Dalls, Detroit and Cleveland are the only teams in the past 25 yrs to not reach a Championship game. I still watch and always will but I do understand what your saying.
Dont mind these other posters that give back idiot answers, remember some of these guys are just young kids and others are tough guy keyboarders who have no voice anywhere else except places like this. The world has become a different place on many ends. Football is a great escape from life for 3 hours but with all thats going on in the world its not unusual to feel how you do.
Keep your head up and good luck my Cowboy fan brother.

I logged in specifically to like your post. Only difference is I have about 45 years in. Lol.

Losses do not bother me as much as they use to. I don’t get upset like I did when I’m younger.

I do, still get very excited and pumped up when they win and win big games though.

And I loved watching football all day yesterday. It was great. Looking forward to 16 more weeks of it.
That's exactly how I felt. I loved seeing Pro football again all day yesterday. And sure it sucked that we lost, but I was surprised at how well I took it at the end of the night. Win some, lose some. Hopefully, a lot if things get better and this team wins more. If not, my life is still great and it will go on. Perspective.

Same here. I was upset over the loss, and how it came about. I was more upset the refs are the same trash as usual.
I did not lose any sleep over this though. Actually I lgot a good solid 8 hours.

It is Monday, and am disappointed still, and already made my post about it. So time to get my stuff done for the day. Look forward to the Stars game tonight. As I will be switching back and forth between that and the NFL games.

I am already looking forward to next weeks game. The week can't go by fast enough.

Even looking forward to TNF. See the Bengals again. Speaking of the Bungles. They too had a cheap penalty of an OPI, Green caught the game winner. But a questionable OPI negated it. FG would have tied, but missed. K pulled a calf muscle or hamstring as he planted, went wide right. It was a chip shot, like the old extra point attempt.
This is why I say the refs are the same old trash.

Fans or no fans it’s football and it’s the Dallas Cowboys. I don’t get upset about the losses anymore as there are bigger things in life as this year has proven. Things aren’t always going to be this way, but we are here for obvious reasons and I’m not going to complain about it, or complain about protecting my fellow citizens.

At the end of the day nobody is twisting your arm to be here or to watch the games. You’re free to turn your TV off anytime you want. With that said, Go Cowboys!

Sadly, I'm really more interested in my fantasy football team right now. In Week 1 it has scored the highest point total in my league.
Jerry's fantasy team lost to the Rams.

You hit the nail on the head but some idiots just have responded with .... “get off the site”, “ good riddance”, etc. I never said I wasn’t a fan anymore. I just said I wasn’t as interested as before, and asked if anyone else felt the same. And some have responded they feel the same way. Apparently some people on here have declared themselves sheriff and are setting the rules for everyone else. They can go hell as far as I’m concerned. I’ll watch what I want, when I want and root for who I want.

Last few years, its just expected that the Cowboys are going to be huge disappointments, I've stopped getting so personally invested after losses but I still love football and the game
