Do you realize the team has lost 6 starters due to injury?

No offseason and no real conditioning program has played a big part in the team losing 6 starters for a while:
McCoy
Jarwin
Collins
Lee
LVE
Lewis

No OTAs to learn schemes and losing 6 starters on top of that makes it hard for any new coaching staff to compete. NFL should have delayed the season a month to allow players to get into game shape.

I felt that way myself. Even when they do have a full off-season nowadays, they still have a hard time getting in shape for the regular season.

Players are expected to show up at camp in shape. Several of them were working out all summer and posting videos on Twitter. Shame on the guys who were sitting on their couch.

Every team is playing by the same rules. It's unfortunate Jerry kept Garrett so long that the change happened this year, but them's the breaks. Tough year for a coaching change.

Collins I agree lack of conditioning. I don't think that is the case with others.

Collins is not an injury, he failed to come in proper shape.Lee and Lewis are backups, and Lee in particular is not a player you can count on.
In all fairness. He probably didnt think there was even going to be a season. lol. Not an excuse I am just saying

It’s not just cardiac conditioning. Not doing proper weight training means joints and other parts of the body aren’t as strong to withstand hits.

There’s no way to definitively know, but it just seems odd that this is the first year in forever they’ve lost 6 starters for 3 weeks or more by the end of the first week.

To me , it seems like the nfl should have considered letting teams have a few more players on their roster this year. Just saying.

It’s happening all over the league and LVE and McCoy were two known injury risks that Jerrah gambled on. Is Lee ever NOT injured? So that’s nothing new either.

LVE broke a bone, no amount of weight training helps. I think we hit a rash of injuries and now have to deal. My understanding about Collins is he did report out of shape. Things like high ankle or even Jarwin injury I have seen happen in normal seasons.

I have to believe the issue is the restrictions made by the pandemic have caused alot of these early injuries.

Players were in doubt about whether or not the games were going to happen.

Gyms were closed all over the country. They were forced to workout in small groups often under secrecy.

There were no coaches overseeing what was going on.

So it's hardly a surprise they are not all ready to play.

This whole year to me is going to be a disaster for us.

At this point I really see nothing of value for us. Unless we play so badly we get a Top 3 draft pick and use it wisely.

Then next year we will be better prepared to deal with things.
