Dak vs. Trevor Lawrence is not an either-or choice

Why draft an OT in top 5 when Tyron is signed through 2024????????

Can LC play on the other side may be a better question. We cant rely on Tyron anymore. Actually we haven't been able to for some time. Regardless we need to go defense in the worst way. This team needs a leader on defense. We need a true alpha who can lead by example, not his Twitter fingers.

Darnold is not close to prospect Lawrence is. Cleveland drafted Baker over him.

absolutely they aren't close, but my point is.....there is still a lot of unknown....he could be the greatest QB but he could just be average as well. You don't know. We know what Dak is..so i'd rather flip that pick into potentially 2-3 day 1 contributors from the draft.

I will wait to see where our pick is before I spend any energy on it. Even in speculation. But right now I seriously doubt they go QB. As right or wrong as it may be, I think they are focused on signing Dak. This is a debate until after the season is over.

Keep Dak, use all the pics on defense. Don't overpay on defense for free agents who may pull a DLaw after getting paid and be mediocre..
Dak is always the first choice as long as his agent does not go over his head. Sign him long term in March. Then I would rebuild the team (defense) through the draft.

Why is Lawrence even a discussion when you have a Jets team that'll go winless this season and likely dump Darnold.

Us talking about what we should do with Trevor Lawrence is about like me worried about what I will wear on my date with Jennifer Lawrence....

if we wanted him(and everyone minus maybe the chiefs, ravens and another team or two would) we already messed that up winning a couple games.

on a related note, I really wish the nfl would go to an nba style lottery...that way we *would* have a chance at Trevor Lawrence.

Also, I don't know why you guys are saying "oh let's get two first round picks in return for him"....ummm he would fetch A LOT more than that. We are talking 3 firsts(1 of which should be top 5), 2 seconds, and a decent player for someone who wants that pick.

This Trevor Lawrence fantasy is likely just that, as it’s highly improbable the now 0-7 Jets win two or more games this season.

Yeah I thought it would be comparable but I was super wrong. Maybe years ago but right now not even close. I can admit I was wrong on this one.

It happens. Every player hits the wall at different points in their career.

The situation isn’t doing him any favors either.

That's my point....I'm not saying don't address Tyron issues in this draft. Just NOT with the TOP PICK.....if we're talking top 5, no way hell that's not going defense.

I never liked him or his game. But in that draft he and Darnold were both highly touted prospects. He wasn't some 2nd round pick that shot to the top.
Baker moved up late. Some had Allen as number 1. Baker, Darnold, Allen, Rosen and Jackson were all over the map. I would have drafted Allen because of the size and big arm.

Yeah Im wit you brother. We need a defensive stud in the worst way. We need a franchise player on that side of the ball.

We are already out of the race to acquire Trevor Lawrence. The Jets won't win this season.

define good to go

Healthy.......from my understanding, the surgery he had should have actually happened a few years ago but he kept putting it off. So there's no reason to believe he won't be back and healthy. This is actually a mute point coz there's no way Jerry and Stephen will replace Tyron with 4 years left on his deal unless he retires or career injury.

Exactly,,,,,not just a defensive player put a playmaker. Picking top 5???? Can't believe some would even consider going offense, especially OL.

I'm not moving Dak, and I wouldn't draft one person for the next 4 years. I'd let Mike McCarthy do it.

Love Dak, think he is a top 8 quarterback in the NFL but you have to take Lawrence and 5 years of cost controlled play. Lawrence has a chance to be the best quarterback in the league because of his size and arm strength.
There are a million 6’4 quarterbacks with big arms like Joe Flacco in the league.

It’s this dumb coach stereotype that makes GM pick horrible quarterbacks like Daniel Jones, Blain Gabbert, and more likely than not Trevor Lawrence.

It’s no coincidence the best quarterbacks and (back to back to likely back again MVPS) in the league are

Mahomes
Wilson (likely the MVP)
And
Lamar Jackson
