Dak made more money than anyone on the team this year and played 4 games.

quit acting like he made the league minimum and is in need of the stimulus to pay his rent.

He’s made less money than Tyrone Crawford no one is saying he’s broke, but he’s far less than his worth to the franchise.

If you draft college players based on stats you'll get into trouble quick.

You draft them on talent/upside.

Lawrence is about as talented as it gets and his upside is as high as anyone that's every played in this league.
2 things:

1. We don’t have the #1 pick
And
2: you are clearly are one of the worst qb talent evaluators ever to post on here or anywhere.

Your qb opinion is all but worthless. In fact your stamp of approval is sooo tainted that it could be the kiss of death for Lawrence. Literally.

People keep talking about Zeke but his deal isn't nearly the hinderance people make it out to be. Granted, when you add up a few other guys yes it is. I could live with Zeke's deal if Lawrence, Jaylon, Crawford and Collins didn't get what they got.

True however only a blind fool can pay a running back a big contract with 2 years left from his old one.this is a classic bad delusional management.
sad part they will do it again

I am interested in what any pro-tankers, some of whom may also either want Dak Prescott to move on or take less money, think of Woodson's comments. The worse Dallas gets, the more Prescott's league market valve increases. And yes. The NFL market does include the Dallas Cowboys also.

Economically, Prescott is in strongest negotiating position of his entire career despite his season ending injury. Essentially, rooting for Dallas to tank runs counter to personally hoping Jerry Jones and Prescott parting ways in the short term. Kinda funny lol.

We sucked with Dak and he wants an amount of money that will keep us average at best for the near future.

Dallas needs so much help.. They pay Dak they sign themselves to mediocrity and slam our Super Bowl door shut for a few years.. The team will have too many holes.

Well this has been my stance on it. You take a running back with the 4th overall pick you better re-sign him. The mistake was using a 4th overall pick on him. They pressured themselves into having to spend the money on him by not letting him walk. Same thing happen to Cooper but it was less egregious because of the position he plays.

How about “Flip a coin!” Could we do worse with the contracts we have now?

So. Are you for or against tanking?

If he's not a top 5 quarterback, then he isn't a franchise quarterback.

I think the #8 quarterback in the league is closer to the #25 quarterback in the league than the #1 quarterback in the league. But a team isn't going to pay the #25 quarterback in the league long-term. Which is what makes having the #8 quarterback so dangerous.

I'm OK with re-newing Dak for a short timeframe. But the most likely outcome in 2 years will be that Dak is either a Super Bowl champion or a 30-year-old quarterback who hasn't been farther than the divisional playoff.

For that reason, I'm 100 percent in favor of using the top draft pick on a quarterback.

For tanking..

But Dallas doesn't have to participate in the market of stupidity. Especially if they have a top 3 pick.

Part of the Cowboys problem with Dak, and even in the Zeke negotiation, is they just do not use the leverage they have.

Dak knows they aren't playing hardball and will cave to his demands eventually because they are suckers.

To be fair though, all of these commentators are talking about "pay him the money" but from all information that was leaked about the negotiations, it was not about the money but rather the length of the contract.

The Cowboys wanted 5 years and Dak's agent wanted 4 years.

Which is exactly why I think they will strike deal fairly quick once the season ends.

You realize how many top graded QB we've heard this about, only get in league and fall flat. One thing college CANNOT simulate or prepare these players for is pressure.

I'm actually shocked at the amount of people that have doubts about Trevor Lawrence.

Another thing I don't get is people absolutely terrified to draft a QB.

Drafting QB's is how you change your franchise to potentially nothing to great. It's the best gamble in the NFL because it can change everything.

Could it be negative? Sure.

But Dallas can play it safe and be stuck in the middle with no chance to win anything or roll the dice, free up some cap space, and see what happens.

IF we're terrible then so be it.. We'll get good picks.

and they will do it with Dak and others...The Jones are insecure so they listen to the media to validate their moves.....classic case MM hire
