So far from the truth. Dallas offered Dak great money and he was too greedy (and dumb) to accept it. His broken leg is exactly the reason why he should have taken a deal that was maybe a little less than he wanted but offered a bunch of guaranteed money.
You sound like one of the Joneses. You have no idea how the negotiations went so stop it.

Dak bet on himself and lost. The guy behind him only had only 2 wins less (let Dak/Dalton share the first Giants W) than what he could put up in 2019 wo the oline and @ 20M less. Dak is better than Dalton, but not 20M a year better. There's no "value" with Dak anymore unf.

And you do? What an ***clown!
I can see that Dak and the Joneses want him to be our quarterback. Not one person in the media or front office has said otherwise. You sound like a punk who lives in his parents basement with the name calling.

You are the one that started the argument saying that Dallas screwed up by not signing him, yet you have no clue about what actually went on.

If Dak wanted to be the QB he could have signed a deal. He wasn't offered minimum wage. If the Jones wanted him that badly they could have overpaid like they generally do with players they like. All of the articles that came out actually said they pretty much had agreed on the $, just not the length of the contract. So it sounds like the Jones' were pretty fair with their offer.

I didn’t say the Cowboys screwed up by not signing him. I am confident a deal will get done. I know nothing is going on in the offseason but there is no real drama between Dak and Joneses.

Funny thing is Dak has the same agent that was having a hard time getting deals done on any of his high profile clients like DeAndre Hopkins and Bud Dupree and Justin Simmons. Dak, Dupree and Simmons all signed and played for the tag. Hopkins ended up getting traded by Houston for a second round pick and a vet RB who has probably seen better days before finally getting a long term deal.

Similar to Dak, Dupree has had the worst thing possible happen. Season ending ACL....so he probably won't get a huge deal as a free agent this year. These guys need to consider the possibilities when they are trying to get a deal done.

The agent does give me pause. He wants top dollar but as much as I love Dak his top dollar argument is a poor one.

For quarterbacks, the playoff teams have 11 first round picks, 1 first round equivalent, and exactly two beyond that (Brady and Wilson). Just noting.

So I guess I interpreted your Dak got burned as a diss at the Jones. My point is that there is plenty of evidence that Dallas offered a market level contract but Dak refused the length of the deal. So if Dak got burned, it really wasnt a one way street. Both parties had the chance to make it happen. And Dak got paid a lot of money for 4.5 games.

The timing was so bad...with Wilson's signing. Dak cannot be compared to Wilson, who has won a Super Bowl and has much playoff success. And the thing is Wilson has been doing it despite having an OL that has been bad for a good portion of the last few years and a defense that is no longer one of the best in the league.

The Joneses offered a fair deal but the guarantees were a little lower then what Goff and Wentz got. No way the agent was going to go for that. I think if the upped the guarantees Dak would have over rid his agent. I think it got close but not in time for the deadline.

In Dak’s mind he is next up. He believes he is as good or better then Wilson plus he is younger . His agent probably wants Mahomes money. The injury was probably a good thing for keeping his price under control.

What does Josh Allen's contract have to do with Dak's. One is winning in the playoffs as we speak, and the other is rehabbing a severe injury and sitting at home just like us. Yeah, i see the similarities.
It has everything to do with it.
Taks agent will use it as leverage. Tak and agent don’t care about what we think of Tak.
It’s all about maximizing leverage and getting the most dollars. The Cousins Method.

That is not how competent GMs judge talent (or how competent fans should either). Good GMs know wins are a team stat and to not attribute too much in that category to a QB. They look at army strength, accuracy, decision making, mobility, and how the team is without him. In ALL of those stats Dak has shown he is should get paid top dollar and unfortunately every day that goes by that number goes up which is why the Bills are negotiating with him now.

Thing is, his being up has almost surpassed. The guys in his draft year all have been paid that are going to be. Mahomes and Watson already have been as well. Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson are the guys coming up and Dak doesn't deserve any more than either of them. There is also Mayfield. The reality is that Dak as it stands is no better than the 8-12 range as far as QBs go. He's not better than Rogers, Brees or Brady. There are a handful that you can argue he is in the same group as....that aren't coming off a serious injury.

Dak played one year on his rookie deal when he could have signed a contract similar to the deal Wentz did. He played on the franchise tag when he could have been paid more on a long term deal. He has left millions of the negotiating table and I doubt that he ever makes that up.

Dallas always has the choice to let him walk as a free agent and tell him to bring his best offer and they will decide whether they will beat it or not. If that happens, Dallas would certainly get a 3rd round comp pick for Dak and a lot of cap space. And we would see what Dak's value on the market is. Of course there is always a team or two that will screw up the position range by overpaying someone.

Tell that to Cousins. LOL.
His agent is using the same method.
Tag-Release-Trade. Pick one.
Tak gets what he wants in all three scenarios.

Dak made up for all the underpaid years just this year alone. Lots of moolah for 25% of the season. So there should be no complaining..

It's the same thing people were saying about Mahomes deal. It really shouldn't affect Dak's deal at all. It's a different tier of QB ranking. Allen has taken the steps forward that Dak never has.
