In this scenario, we find a trading partner near the top of rd 2 and give up our 3rd comp to get there. It's very possible both players could hear their names called in rd 1.
This is a year we needed 2 1st’s

Let's assume Cowboy Front Office signs bridge, 1 yr types at each position in fa. The likes of Barmore/Nixon are already off the board. Cowboys have a chance to move up in the 2nd rd in which both Moehrig/Bolton are still available, which name would you write on the card?

-The centerfield, single-high free safety is needed in Quinn's cover 3 scheme. The drop-off could be great after him at the position. Not the best tackler, nor excels in man coverage.

-Bolton fills the Mike Linebacker need and instantly improves our run defense day 1. He has size/length limitations and is probably physically maxed out.
Moehrig. If you need a small LB, get his teammate Wallow in the 4th

Moehrig. I really like his game and he should be a spot-on fit for Quinn’s defense.

I just don't want to become all fixed on one player in the 2nd Round. If Bolton is there.....than yes it's a good pick..an if Moehrig is there than they will have a decision to make. I just hate when we all target a specific player and than he goes 5 spots before and we all turn on the Cowboy Draft. Things happen and you have to wait until the next round. Lets just hope that we can get one of the Top 2 CB in the Draft. I personally don't think Bolton will last til the 2nd Round when Dallas comes around again. I think the 2nd Round sweet position will be Safety and EDGE. LB don't tend to go high, but their will be a few of them sprinkled within 25 and 40. Once you get to 40 the drop off is considerable.....not to say they can't be solid players....I am just going by prospects list and boards. And we all know that many fans start getting upset when names start getting called that are listed as 5-7th Round Prospects. But I think if Moehrig is off the board and say u have to pick between Moses, Suratt (NC) and Cox....u might want to just stick with a Safety or Edge. You can get a solid LB with a lower grade in round 3/4.

You’re wrong.
You think Bolton has all pro ability? I doubt that. I don’t think he will be better then 2018 versions of LVE or Jaylon. The guy might run a 4.8 forty. We will never really know because their is no combine.

I believe Bolton would have to be our first round pick to get him. Just like Zaven Collins. So I take Bolton in the first after pulling a captain trade down if one of the the big name QBs of Lance,Fields, or Wilson happens to fall to 10.

Bolton and it's not even close IMO........ IF we can come away from this draft with Surtain or Farley, Bolton, and maybe DT McNeill with the first three picks, I'm doing cartwheels (lol). I'll address FS with a free agent.

Like I said before, I can care less if Bolton runs a 4.8. His instincts allow him to read and react before a blocker gets on him. His lack of timed speed would show up more in coverage down the field, but he is very good in covering the underneath zones.

I hear you and trust your opinion. I just see Hitchens when I saw his film. He will be a solid pro but his lack of speed and size is really concerning. I would draft him maybe with my 3rd round comp pick and that is based off of you guys on the board assessment of him. I am what Broaddus calls an old crusty.

4.8? Whew...I don't think that's gonna fly in today's NFL.

If he runs a 4.8 I'm not touching him in the 1st 2 rounds.

With no combine he might make it us at 44. I just want 3 walk in starters in this draft on defense.
They're all still going to test, in one way or another.

You're not getting 3 starters on defense in one draft. Good drafts get you 3 starters after everyone is developed. 3 on day 1 - especially on one side of the ball - is unrealstic.

5 rotation players on defense then. That is possible.

Well luckily for the players, no one's running a 4.8 this year without the combine.
