If Pitts ends up being like Travis Kelce, George Kittle, Shannon Sharpe, Tony Gonzalez..... would he be worth drafting at 10? Would he be worth giving up this years 1st and next years 3rd for him?

Depends. If they have a plan in place to upgrade the defensive talent along the way, maybe.

This team isn't a Pitts type talent from being really good. Pitts just makes the team what it already is......... heavily lopsided towards the offense.

So sure, take Pitts. But you better have a plan in place to upgrade the defensive talent and not rely on Quinn somehow turning chopped liver into a filet mignon. And if you go chasing Pitts in the Top 10 where you give up another premium pick this year or next year (or some combo of both years), then that's a mistake IMO. If you are going offense with your first round pick, you need all those 2nd and 3rd rounders to get some defensive help.

I have utmost respect for both Kelce and Gonzalez but I think if Pitts can deal with life of an NFL player and can avoid major injury has the potential to be better. Being around 6'06" and possessing 4.4 speed is impressive and at TE it is even more impressive.
Kelce is about as consistent a player as I have seen in a long time. You can chalk him up to 6 or 7 catches for 115 yards it seems like EVERY WEEK. And thats why I used him... is it worth a trade to get a player of that caliber?

Fantasy. Dallas is a stay and pick team now, Jerry doesn't have moves anymore...think that was mostly Jimmy anyway (shots fired).

Depends on the trade. I want to see Cowboys address some critical needs on defense but as I have said I also see the talent level of Pitts. It is a tough call to make if you are willing at looking at all sides of the situation.

Chances are your right, then again Lamb was supposed to be long gone before our pick. I learned never say never, not when it comes to the draft.

it’s the smart play in today’s NFL with 4 year contracts. Plus Jerry sucked at it. Moving around has amounted to nothing. They actually drafted well last year without any moves! People seem to like trades. Just draft with some common sense. That’s where Jerry and Jimmy differ. Jerry has none!

Id do it, and go defense in rounds 2,3,4, maybe even 5, then an o lineman.

Pitts must really not like his kid if he wants his career to be destroyed like the others.

Got to be honest, J Johnson is my all time favorite coach... but stop making him out to be some saint. Look at his Dolphin drafts from 96-99 and it was absolutely HORRIBLE. I just looked. HORRIBLE.... he had Zach Thomas and Patrick Surtain and Jason taylor.... that was essentially the only 3 players in 4 years that you would say were good picks. His 1st and 2nd rd picks in all four years were terrible....... TURRIBLE as Charles says.

It just shows how much of the draft is a total crap shoot. His 2 best draft picks were a third and 5th round pick(pick 154).

If he was so smart, he would have drafted those two guys in the 1st rd and not 3rd and 5th.

Roll the dice and pray like hell.

I have no idea exactly where Pitts will end up as far as his career... BUT, if you had a crystal ball and Pitts ends up being a Travis kelce or Tony Gonzalez, would you trade up for him?

If you put it that way? Yes. I’m all for Pitts if he’s our BPA. I have no issue with it. (Considering Horn, surtain, Slater, Sewell all gone)then take Pitts. We tried the 40 burger stuff last season with who we have and didn’t quite work out. Imo Let’s add to this defense. Get you a young good corner OR an OL. Protecting dak I feel does better for us over a great TE.

Only a couple of weeks ago I posted that if Pitts is there at ten Jerry won't make the same mistake he made in 98 and everyone called me crazy!

Jerry changes from Ham to Turkey sandwiches for lunch would be a headline. I never understand why people complain about this. The Cowboys are the most visible team in pro sports, and so is their owner,. It is what it is and it isnt changing.

It doesn't mean that I'm not sick of it. "I want winners!".....

I think it will be 2009 Special Teams Draft dumb.
I think he will have an unremarkable career like Caliborne. I think he has to go t o a team that will use him like Jimmy Graham was, do not try and turn him into a conventional TE by adding weight and being an in-line blocker. In essence a Big Slot guy.

Does he know something or is he just speculating? The direct quote is that Jerry has “something up his sleeve that's going to shock everyone”.

Fisher is reporting it though the original source is here: https://www.inquirer.com/eagles/kyle-pitts-2021-nfl-draft-philadelphia-20210428.html

Boys and girls, IT’S HAPPENING!!

The grief for not taking Randy Moss finally catches up to Jerry...He can finally sleep well @ night.
