I suppose the Giants are the scariest right now because they have a lot of weapons on offense and their defense is pretty good too. It all depends on their offensive line and QB.

The WFT is scary because of that defense. Those defensive linemen will be maturing pretty soo and that could make their DL the best in the league. But like NY, Washington has some issues with their offensive line - and QB.

The sneaky good team could be the Eagles. I am not sold on Hurts, but the Eagles have a lot of speed on offense. And their defense is always tough. If they solve their secondary problems, the could sneak up on a lot of teams.

I guess what I am saying is, with the Cowboys defensive problems, every team is scary.

Also depends upon coaching , and they also have Jason Garrett as OC, . Yiikes !!
so that's a major plus for us. What good are weapons if the same bland, predictable, simplistic unimaginative OC that used to plague us when he tried the
HC/OC dual method with us ?

i heard NY fans are already long been calling for his head. Heir apparent new HC for Giants ? naaaah ! ..

The biggest obstacle the Cowboys have to overcome is their own front office. WFT? Eagles? Giants?

There are no great teams in this division. As it stands, the NFC East looks one-and-done again this year.

Washington QBs played in 2020

Ryan Finley
Nate Sudfeld
Ben Dinucci
Nick Mullens
Andy Dalton
Carson Wentz
Big Ben

That's their wins

Gave up 30 points in losses to
Brady
Lamar
Murray
Stafford
Goff
Mayfield

Next year they play
Brady
Herbert
Dak
Allen
Mahomes
Russ
Matty Ice

I think people are going to be surprised when they realize they're not the 85 Bears
Thats pretty amazing.

New York
New York appears (on paper) to have improved all across the board.
Due to players returning from injury, back from covid opt-outs, thru trades, and via the draft, they should be much improved.
The defense overall, the oline, the run game, the WRs.....all across the board.
Adding a pro bowl LT (Solder), RB (Barkley), WR (Golliday) to your roster helps.

Washington
Washington's D was already very good but looks to be even better. Even though--as pointed out earlier in this thread--they racked up big defensive numbers vs terrible QBs, they did finish 4th in the league in scoring defense with a very young and rising roster. In a year where total points given up across the league were WAY up from 2019, their 20 ppg was good and would calibrate to 18 ppg in other years
They clearly upgraded at QB--though how much is to be determined. Their line is good and they upgraded their young WR corp with vet Samuels and rookie Dyami Brown.

Philly
Jalen Hurts will get his 1st full offseason and will run with the starters full-time. He's a question mark, but that has to help.
Their oline is still solid. They should expect big improvement from their WR group with the addition of Devonte Smith and with Jaelon Reagor having his first offseason and being healthy. They still have the best TE in the division.
Their defense will be upgraded, presumably, by getting players back from injuries and via offseason additions.

In the end, Dallas is the favorite....imo.
They check all the boxes on ways to improve....starting with getting their QB and oline back.
But the division teams won't be quite the whipping boys that they were last year

Washington... because their defense is going to get better.

it's just me, but i tend to think Washington's DTs are somewhat overrated.
As former No.1 picks, i envisioned them to be dominant, not just mere solid. .

I expected them to be a force of nature, take over group- and they haven't been that
With Jonathan Allen, before Quinton Willams came on the scene, he was thought of to be the most talented of the constant Bama 1st round caliber draftees.

Every time we've play Washington, i just don't hear a great deal from Allen and Ron Payne. i don't see them tearing us from the interior and causing us havoc
due to their status of being well invested No.1 picks.

Even with the likes of serviceable type Conner Williams, you would think we'd observed more disruption, dominance.
But we really don't. It's always been far more Washington's edge rushers than the interior guys.

The Giants could be interesting, but the Eagles are still a mess. The Commanders are clearly the favorite to win the division, especially if Fitzpatrick has another of his typical type of years. This is the first time he doesn't have to do much to win games, so perhaps he can calm the up-and-down nature of his play.

Truly astounding how Iggles went from upstarts to building a team that won the Super Bowl without their then star QB, to both firing the HC that led them to their first and only SB in their existing history
and trading that once star QB in the same year.

And i was so worried that Iggles were gonna rule this division for many more years to come, and have a better chance at several more playoff wins and Super bowl chances than
the Cowboys.

Look at how fast they are retreating in the very opposite direction now ..!! LOL

What will make it really yummy is when Wentz re-finds himself in Indy while the Eagles are stubbing their toes offensively all year.

Probably the Giants, just because Jones still has a chance of becoming a good QB -- though I doubt it since he doesn't seem to be getting any better -- and the other two don't have a QB.

But nobody in this division is very good, including Dallas.

None of them

all of them are below average

and then theres Dallas who is able to play at an elite level with elite talent but forgets what sport theyre playing until the 4th quarter and by then its too late

What NFC East rival foe concerns you the most:

1) Washington FT:
They may have the best HC in the division, imo. but their biggest issues is gonna be at QB, Fitz magic is scrappy but he’ll be hot one streak and be erratic & mistake prone in other streaks.

It helps with Antonio Gibson run game, and having Terry McLaurin and Chris Samuels at WR, and they have probably the best OL coach in NFL. They are gradually building one of the better young defenses in NFL starting with their loaded No. 1 pick invested DL, per Chase Young.
Only in their secondary is where I still think they are very iffy and vulnerable.
Along with Denver, i thought they truly miss out on a rich QB class and should've traded to get up
for Mac Jones, imo.

2) NYGiants
If Barkley makes an AP like full recovery from an ACL tear, and anything close to his explosive self, he instantly makes them a threat again, we’ve had our share of issues vs Saquan.

QB Daniel Jones with his added WR weaponry,(Golladay, Toney) could make them tougher to have to deal with ..vs Fitz-Magic in Wash. But Daniels still takes a lot of sacks, will make critical mistakes in critical stretches, still have a suspect OL and even more suspect OC.

Besides L. Williams, who are their impact defensive players ?
and could their D” give our offense problems ? they could have a solid secondary in Logan, Bradberry and McKinney; but what about the overall front seven ?

3) Philly Eagles: -worth repeatin’ .. .. i dunno anything about their new HC, or if he truly believes in a run game or not, but i'm expecting Hurts is gonna be asked to carry the load, and end up being further exposed this year.
i'm expecting Iggles to place the offense and load on Hurts back, and it will come back to sting them.

Will rookie WR Devontae Smith be that much of a Justin Jefferson type instant impact to their offense with Hurts at the steering wheel ?

Defensively they added aging vet Ryan Kerrigan who could even start at one point, but otherwise i dunno if i have seen anything they have upgraded on defense in offseason that has impressed or worries me on facing them.
i feel If you can control Hurts’ run skills and blast and punish him under duress in pass game, I think we can handle and make him a nonfactor. He’ll have to prove he is well and beyond his rookie-ness now.

And what’s the state of their problematic OL now ? they added a player (center) and have both OTs returning from injury.
Tell you the truth none. But if I had to pick one Washington

I'm concerned with all of them.

Because the Cowboys are not very good.

I don't agree. I actually think Dallas wasn't that far away from being a contender. All the injuries this team suffered last year along with Covid and whole new coaching staff played a massive role in the team not looking good. Cowboys were on their 5th & 6th string tackles. They had 1 starter left on the O-line at one point. No team in the NFL would have done anything. Then you take away their starting QB. Come on. MM actually getting this team to compete at the end of the season was an accomplishment.

I fully expect Cowboys to be one of the better teams in the NFL next year. They will be one of those "Surprise" teams.

yes Im still concerned about the secondary but what team doesnt have holes?

You could be the worst football team in the world. Play division rival and you throw it all away because it’s a battle battle

-Washington is the reverse team of the Cowboys, get a middle of the pack offense, they could be a legitimate playoff contender.
-Giants got many offensive weapons this offseason, but surprisingly did nothing to help their OL. They have a good, but not great defense.
-Eagles are the wildcard, had mass OL injuries like us last yr and still have a lot of talent inside the trenches.

The Cowboys have the best QB in the division, but the worst defense on paper. The other teams have question marks at the QB position. With strong defenses, they will be competitive, but I wonder if they will be successful winning those close games with average QB's. If I had to pick one team I am most worried this season is probably the Giants. Ton of talent and both sides of the football.
