He plays better lined up against the oline. Yesterday proved it.
Watching Sam Donald seems like every time he had time to play parson was lined up as a linebacker but when he lined up as a lineman he seemed to always be disrupting something
Exactly! All pressures AT THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE!!! Not hanging back as a LB.Sack, tfl, 2 pressures? If that’s not effective I’ll take it all day. They also had him blitzing up the middle which really affected darnold.
educate yourself.
Exactly! Spot on.I'm from the Harrisburg area of PA just like Parsons and if you go back and read my posts before the draft I told ya'll I watched him play football his entire life. And I said then, that he was a freak athlete who's best trait was attacking the line, qb or rb, it makes no difference. He is so quick and slippery that he can create havoc getting into the back field. I also said that he could run super fast, but that his pass defense "instincts" weren't great and I worried about him being a MLB for a 4/3 defense.
I said he will best fit in as a 3/4 OLB (think Von Miller) attacking the line most of the time, but picking up RB's out of the back field and in the flat.
And because of that I questioned taking him top 10 in the draft. I questioned him as a LB prospect for this team, in this scheme. I just wasn't sure how he would fit this defense.
Well, so far, he is exactly what I said he was, a flat out disrupting play buster creating havoc in the backfield. I still think his best NFL position is OLB on a 3/4 defense. If we don't switch schemes and keep doing what we're doing I don't much care if they play him as a LB or a DE, as long as they let him attack the line.

When will you learn???
Exactly! Spot on.
Too bad some are hell bent at playing Micah as a MLB in coverage (his weakest part of his game).
Micah needs to play attacking the line of scrimmage as you mentioned, whether at 4-3 DE, around the edge as a 3-4 OLB or lined up while blitzing inside. Interchange him all 3 different ways, but definitely play him attacking that line. That's the beat way to use him.
Shut it.Literally no one, not a single soul, is hell bent on Parsons being a coverage backer. Just stop.
With the release of Smith, Parsons will be heading back to his LB spot.He plays better lined up against the oline. Yesterday proved it.

That is what I thought as soon as I saw Jaylon was releasedThe rele

And that is where I expect him to ultimately playThe rele

Micah switch played LB yesterday against the Panthers. He was not effective when he played LB. WHEN WILL YOU LEARN???
Of course! Playing AT THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE. Not playing 5+ yards back as a normal LB.Micah was plenty effective playing linebacker. In fact, him roaming around and jumping from one gap to another causes mass confusion on the oline.
He had one rush up the middle taking on 3 blockers and flushing out Darnold to the right side, allowing Goldston to rack up a sack.

What is so hard for you guys to understand?

Preach it dear!Shut it.
Plenty on here have been clamoring how Parsons could develop into a good coverage LB.
He does. He should continue to develop at LB though and not be exclusive pass rusher. His MLB skills need work.He plays better lined up against the oline. Yesterday proved it.
