...on a team with this much star power, I don't think Pollard is as much of a household name around the NFL. The Cowboys might need him to be if they're going to make a run. That's not to say he has to carry the load, because Zeke Elliott has looked better and better as we've gotten closer to the postseason. But Pollard has that juice and that home run ability to change a game. If he does that in the playoffs, he could make quite a name for himself – not to mention add a big spark to the ground game.

How about Neville Gallimore? He's been productive working back into the rotation these last four games and should continue to get better. And they really need him, especially in this matchup Sunday, because it will be important for the defensive line to keep the 49ers from getting on the linebackers quickly in the run game.

I'm now predicting an opposites day.

SF will not be able to run against us, but Jimmy G. will light our secondary up.

Dallas will struggle throwing the ball, but will average 6.2 yards a carry.

Opposites...
So at the end of the day, we win. Because we always win when we rush for over 110 yards.

look for a lot of C gap runs by SF.

Our DEs are terrible playing contain.

Irvin is just stating what some of us have already said. No news to me
Right there with you. A more physical team on both sides of the ball than Denver with a better QB. Boys have not won vs a physical opponent in I don’t know how long.

I respect Irvin, I really respect Irvin and his insight but from here on out every playoff game will present match up problems. Every team and every game will have match up issues that will work for them or against them. There's no team that is invincible in the playoffs. So if drew the Cardinals then people would be discussing the bad matchup with Kyler Murray.

What I'm genuinely surprised about is it seems that the talking heads only address the matchup problems that favor the 9ers and there's not a lot being said about the Cowboys with favorable matchups.

O well, gameday will.answer all questions. I personally feel we will win but it's the playoffs so there's some anxiety there. But I feel we'll win in a dogfight. 31-27 win for us.

I guess nobody believes Dak will expose their secondary.

I actually think it is going to come down more to the lbs being able to see the misdirection and adjust to prevent the runner getting to the second level...they like to use a lot of trickery and we have to make sure we don't get fooled

There trickery now is just a simple toss back to Mitchell and he picks his own hole. They did it over and over to the Rams in both gamea

I feel good about this bc the Cowboys play best when they are not some big favorite going into a game against a good team.

I think the media and some fans are completely exaggerating San Fran's strengths as a team. Yes they are a good team and they very well may win the game. The same would be true of any other matchup in the entire playoffs, outside of maybe Philly. But man folks are acting like we're facing the 1994 Niners.

Dallas defense has to stop the San Fran's running game, that's the key to this game, if this game resembles the Rams playoff game from a few years back, Dallas will lose!

This game is such a toss-up in how it can go, for two reasons I believe:

1. JG throws between the hashes all the time. The fact SF likes to take advantage with play-action via of aggressive and over-pursuit by the defense against the outside zone running scheme. This means the LBs are going to have to be disciplined and we have been exposed at times over the middle.

2. JG, especially with his thumb injury, is night and day. Some of the passes he threw last week were completely off. This can lead to plenty of TOs.

If SF wins, it’s going to be one of those tough low-scoring games. They beat the Bengals and Rams in OT games during their 8-3 win streak, so they know how yo win close games. If Dallas wins, it’s because they started off quick, caused by shaky throwing of JG and TOs getting ahead early, leading to a blow out.

If anybody here has paid any attention to Michael Irvin over the years then they know that Mike is VERY superstitious.. (writin's on the wall....) In falling in line with the national media narrative that the Cowboys stand no chance Mike is simply hoping to provide fuel for his boys in blue and silver. He KNOWS that this team has been at its absolute best when the media has been draggin it ... so in his mind draggin is what this team needs... so drag on..

Ouch, that's rough coming from the ultimate homer

Mike said the same thing before the first Washington game. He was nervous about the game and talked about how physical Washington was and everything. We all saw how that game played out.

I believe it to be the truth...

we went from earning a 3rd seed at home and 12-5 to have everyone picking a team that barely got in on OT the final game with 10 wins on the road as a favorite. not many are giving Dallas a shot and that going to send clear message to our locker room.
