This was the by far the most SB or bust season since #8 was taking the snaps.

Other seasons had hope but none had Jerry, Us and the NFL world as high on the teams chances as this season.

He just committed big money to a QB who crapped the bed in crunch time.
His hand picked HC and OC crapped the bed in crunch time.
Two of his hand picked star WR's crapped the bed in crunch time.
His hand picked super leader threw fresh meat to the hyenas bringing major negative attention to the team.

The entire NFL world is ripping Jerry and his team to shreds.

This was a massive failure by management, coaches and players.

Losing your season to injury like last season stinks but it falls into the 'crap happens' category.
Going 8-8 stinks but when that's pretty much what was expected it falls into the "it is what it is' category.

What season do you think was more disappointing for Jerry than this one.

Excellent and truth telling post. Nice job.

Jerry sounds the same for the past 27 years....he wont make a change....even if he did, it will probably be Dave Campo type coach....

My opinion is that the present and future of this team won't achiev a championship fire because it lacks all 3 elements needed.

Remember that? Oxygen heat and fuel all required to keep a fire going and if any one of them is missing, then you don't have a fire?

News flash:
Dallas ain't missing just one.

Coaching is just one element of this fire triangle.
GM'ing is another.
QB'ing is another.

Dallas is missing ALL 3.

So if you were taught that ya can't have a fire if one of those elements were missing, then you surely shouldn't expect ANYTHING of a championship fire from this current trio.

Yikes.

This is telling.

Yes I agree that it is telling, BUT at the same time soooooo misguided!!!
KM needs to go! That offense was prolific for like 10 games, but it wasn't creative except for a few games. I have watched plenty of analysts tear it apart! Just check out the Kurt Warner video from a few days ago, it's literally a dumb offensive scheme. No quick plays, no 3 step drops or timing routes, many of the routes run directly into the defenses coverages, hardly no pre-snap motion and completely predictable whether it's going to be a run or pass....

Then hire a real GM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You see? There's the fallacy.
It's not Jerry being the GM.
You all think it's Jerry being the GM.

It's Jerry being the owner micromanaging everything and undercutting everybody along the way while acting like he's the GM at the same time.
He's his own zero-sum game. He has to get credit and relishes the spotlight.

Even if he fires himself and hires an "independent" GM, he's still going to be the same micromanaging owner who has final say in the exact same way he has before and he will be the same deterrent he has always been.

Soak up that sun baby. No need for sun screen, it ain't gonna get too hot for a while.

Here's another problem with Jerry.

So let's say he really is considering shaking up the coaching staff. Let's say he wants to get rid of MM. Well, other teams are already out there shaking the trees and interviewing the candidates that the league, by and large, view as the best candidates. Jerry taking his time on deciding what to do just puts him behind the 8 ball. If he decides McCarthy has to go and does so three weeks from now, teams already have ins with the better candidates.

So Jerry if you are even thinking about getting rid of MM, then clearly you have issues with him. Be decisive and make a move and don't wait weeks to figure out what to do.

Hey you possible coaching candidates out there. How'd you like to work for this clown?
A lot! It’s the Dallas Cowboys, we get who we want!

How exactly has Jerry been at fault? I think y’all just made this thing up about him being the reason we failed and just ran with it because it’s easy and trendy.

He’s put together a hell of a roster, hired a Super Bowl winning head coach and has really taken a backseat from being in the public guy. He’s done a pretty good job as a GM!

That fact MM admitted we needed to cleanup penalties after the season… and that we were nervous is fireable to me.

They would line up to coach the Cowboys. That’s a fact, regardless of what we think of Jerry. I think Jerry was trying to be patient, but he is definitely working himself into a lather, and he makes great points. Why should he listen to Mike tell him how he will improve penalties in the offseason. If he has a clue how to do that, he should have done it during the season.

I think Quinn is safe only if he returns as DC. The defense was still garbage at times, and history indicates that turnovers won’t fall off tree next season, but overall, with a lack of interior linemen and linebackers, Quinn got more out of the defense than anyone expected going into the season.

McCarthy is in danger because he’s making excuses, not admitting his failures, and indicating he can fix things, meaning he should have already fixed them if that’s true. Also, don’t think for a second that Jerry liked being made a fool of when Mike admitted he lied/exaggerated in his interview, and Jerry is not enjoying how the media is bringing that back up daily now.

Moore is in danger because he won’t run a balanced offense, has an above average QB passing more per game than Rodgers by a lot, emphasizes his play design over getting the ball to the playmakers, and proved he has no answer for the zone concepts he saw the second half of the season.

I believe Philbin is also on the hot seat and may be Moore’s scapegoat.

Jerry cannot be happy with Dak’s up and down year, but the ups mean he can do it, and he knows he’s married to Dak, so he must find coaches that will balance the offense and get the most out of Dak.

As I shared in another post…..

Aaron Rodgers, perhaps the best and most accurate passer of all time, the MVP, threw 40 passes in only 1 game the entire season because GB kept the defense honest and made play-action work by running the ball.

Dak, who is at least 1-2 tiers below Rodgers, as a pure passer, threw more than 40 passes in 6 games, 39 passes in 3 other games, and went over 50 passes twice this season. He threw 43 passes with only 16 run plays vs SF, and he led the team in rushing vs Arizona with only 20 yards.

I see Dak as a very good, above average QB that we can win with. But the worse you think of Dak, the more insane and stupid you should see the numbers above. That’s a recipe for losing games, especially big games.

Great to have a job you like.
Most folks don't have that dynamic.
I just got a great job, I retired! :)
Heck yeah! Congrats! May you have many happy years of enjoyment ahead of you.

Maybe, one day, we'll have a beer somewhere, sometime, someplace, but until then: let's have a beer!
