The 3 remaining defenses are nothing special. They aren’t way better than us. They’re all about the same. I don’t know what the Bengals are ranked but they don’t even show up in the top 15.

Can we just admit that this league isn’t built for defenses to be great and whatever you get from a defense is just a bonus.

Josh Allen lit the Chiefs up tonight and we didn’t even score a TD on those guys. That’s how far we are behind when it comes to competing against these type of teams.

So focus on defense all you want. Good luck getting through the playoffs and consistently stoping these top tier QBs.

If we want to win anything it needs to come from the offensive side of the ball. Anything the defense gives is a bonus.

Elite QBs win championships and defenses are just an accessory that you hope performs well.

It’s not the 90s and NFL rules are against teams playing defense.

How about we "discuss" your years long penchant concerning Dak?

Just keep drafting defense in the first 3 rounds.

You can draft the mauling type OL in the later rounds for the running game.

If you watched the Buccaneers game against the Rams you will see why a Strong NT is a must for the Cowboys to have a quality Defense.

One guy can make this team so much better. A NT that can take on two guys and still Rea out and grab you. Jesus H.

This is what this teaches you.

It frees up everyone else rushing the passes.

Also a Quality OG helps you with your OT and C. He also opens up holes and defeats the massive DT or helps slow them atleast helps.

These are the two holes besides LB Dallas must fill to push us to the next level

What's funny is 7 of the last 10 superbowls, defense were the biggest factors in the wins.

Brady literally had a great oline, Mike Evans, Godwin, AB, Gronk, Fournette, and a great defense.

We took Martin, Frederick & Smith all in the 1st round.

If an O-Linemen that we really like and is around the BPA we should draft him in the first 3 rounds.

We can beat all of those teams if we executed like we do against the NFC East. We absolutely demolished the WFT, Eagles, and Giants. As a matter of fact we had the 2nd highest point differential in the entire NFL.

This is a dominant football team but the one team we can’t ever beat is ourselves.

Half the teams this weekend won with an offensive output less than 20 points, which is poor by any measure. Half won with an output of 30 or more, which is good by any measure.

Seems there's still room for both sides of the ball.

Over the history of the NFL great D almost always controls/shuts down great O.

Hopefully, after watching our #1 Offense get their butt kicked, Jerry will focus on building a dominant Defense!!!!

Smith and Martin aren't going anywhere and Steele looks to be ready to take over at RT. Not to mention, if given the chance Ball might even be better than Steele at RT. Whoever loses that battle will probably become the swing tackle. If Collins is not a cap casualty, he could easily move back to LG where he started and be an upgrade over Williams IMO. Farniok and McGovern are also in the mix at LG and both should be improved players after TC. Farniok might also challenge Biadasz at center and win. In short, we currently have options along the OL in getting the best 5 out there. I would wait until the 4th round and continue to build our defense with the early picks.

Great post, OP. Elite QBs can beat top defenses in today's NFL.

And let's be clear about these two special guys, Mahomes and Allen, who are in a separate class for playoff football:

-They have canon arms and are generally accurate
-Are incredibly resourceful and surprisingly accurate on the run
-Can contribute 40-90 yards of rushing, often with high YPC. They are true runners
-Make good decisions
-Both these guys also happen to play on talented, well-rounded teams with good coaching.

Herbert might soon be in the same class as these two.

Dak isn't extremely mobile anymore, nor is Burrow, Carr, Brady, Rogers, Stafford, Cousins.

There are top QBs and then there are these uber-athlete, great QBs. Whew, tough to beat that!
