I almost bought it for the PS4 Pro but eventually decided to go with the PC version. I don't understand why anyone would have bought a boxed copy for PC when all you are getting is a game key on a piece of paper.
Anyways, switched to a controller last night and it has made combat so much easier than with a K/M.

The main reason I posted it was not so much the boxed angle but that 80% of the boxed sales were PS4/PS5 (PS5 at 63% and PS4 at %17), while 17% were Xbox and 3% were PC.I almost bought it for the PS4 Pro but eventually decided to go with the PC version. While not a true representation of overall division of platform sales, it did make me wonder if stats will be released at some point showing the breakdown by platform as that would be really interesting to see.

I don't believe{?} my processor is supported by 11.
Not officially there are workarounds I'm sure you know about, but MS will soon be adding watermarks for officially unsupported systems. Frankly it's not worth the bother and I've done some work for the company, stick with windows 10 windows 11 is something like stardock adding a skin to windows and rebadging it as a new windows since there was a new iteration of OSX and ChromeOS they realized that they needed to do something. If you want a nice upgrade get yourself a $200.00 Adler Lake I5 12400 6c/12t chip with a B660 motherboard and 16GB of DDR4 3200 keep your GTX 1070 for now prices are starting to drop on GPU's.

I do not know anyone personally who has upgraded to Windows 11. The only people I know running Windows 11 are those who bought new computers that came with it already installed.

Sound advice^^ going to stick with 10 as long as possible. Still haven't decided whether i want to go with Intel or AMD for my next build

Im on the final quest on HFW: Some spoiler free thoughts on the game
- Some of the settlements they have added look phenomenal. Most of have their own little story arc, which is usually a pretty decent side quest. Big improvement over HZD where the Nora settlements, Meridian and Sunfall left alot to be desired content wise
- Some reviews I read before playing dinged the game for having way too many weapons. As I played longer, I actually saw it as a plus. Larger weapon wheel lets you use more elemental types without changing gear, and its very necessary for some of the fights you come up on. You want to be able to have every element type available because you will have fights with multiple different enemies. It can be hard keeping track of what you have though
- The special abilities and valors both make different play styles more viable in this game Vs ZD(which wanted you to be more of a stalker) The special abilities are a bit convoluted at first, but you get used to them. The sniper nuke may be a bit OP. I also found melee a bit underwhelming
- Machine enemies where a triumph in ZD, and they are even better here. Some of the same return, but the new machines big and small are more challenging than they were. Small machines can be slept on and burn though yours health building up elemental damage. The large enemies are incredibly challenging. They almost make Thunderjaws seem like a mid size machine.
- Like the last game, the side stuff like hunting grounds and ruins didn't really suck me in. There are some added stuff like an melee pit and an arena, but I didn't get into them. However if you like the hunting grounds in HZD, you will enjoy those additions.
- The narrative is pretty solid. Interesting characters. This portion of the game I would say is on par, but not quite as good as the orginal. However I did enjoy the Tenakth a bit more than the Nora, Carja and Osoram of HZD
All in all it lived up to the hype. I dont know if I would put it in with Witcher 3, Skyrim, and Red Dead 2 in the top tier of open world action adventure games, but its in the conversation

Like the original, the fun factor is very high. Always feel compelled to go take some Machines on

I finally got to sit down and put in some time with Forbidden West myself. I don't have 50 hours in like darth, but I'm accumulating them quickly. lol
So far, I'm really enjoying it. My initial thoughts were that it isn't that much different from it's predecessor. With that said, once you start getting into the game, you start noticing more change. The revamped skill tree is awesome, the combat mechanics and new weapons are great, and the variety of machines is really good. The map, from what I've seen so far, is super interesting and I'm genuinely loving the exploration of it. I enjoy they added different ways of traversing through the map. The pullcaster isn't bad, though it's not quite as fun and free feeling as the grapple-hook in Halo, it does have it's place in the game. I love the Shieldwing. Fantastic addition.
Overall, I'm loving it! It's everything I expected it to be and more. It's a worthy sequel and I look forward to diving deeper into the game. Now, if only I had a PS5 to play it on.

You're able to stand your ground more in this game, but still be challenged. Whereas in HZD, you did alot of running for your life, firing arrows in retreat. Until you got endgame gear, and you were just drop buckets of murder all over machines, while being practically indestructibleI finally got to sit down and put in some time with Forbidden West myself. Yes me too, and 99% of the hardware I mentioned before I sold some time ago including the RTX 3080. I had a business building mid to high end gaming units for 8 years as a side job and at one time I averaged 2 rigs per month, crypto and the pandemic changed all that with the inability to get GPU's for a normal price. I sold pretty much everything I had other than a few cases and some SSD's. My last build I decided not to sell but to use it. It runs a 5600x with an RTX 3060ti that I was able to get through the newegg shuffle along with a 1440p 144hz display. I have a GTX 1660ti as a backup and you know I need that because the 5600x has no iGPU. The Adler Lake 12400 is nearly as fast as a 12600k in gaming and on par with a 5600x, and it has no E cores just P cores so you won't be pigeon-holed into using Windows 11 like you would be with a 12600k/12700k/12900k because of the processor scheduler in windows 11 for Adler Lake chips with E cores. Best of all you get iGPU for video redundancy (just like your 4790k) so if your GTX 1070 fails you can keep running. That's what i would get if I was buying new and used the rig mostly for gaming - the 12400. If you do go Intel don't get one of the "F" chips they don't have iGPU.

I have to admit i am sort of out of the loop on the latest and greatest CPUs. The last Intels i looked at were the Coffee Lakes and the last AMD i looked at was the Ryzen 3700x. Will need to do a fair amount of research before spending any $$. Heck i am still running DDR3 Ram
I don't any problems running anything at the moment even at a 4K resolution, so part of me thinks just hold on for another year or 2.Thank you for the advice and input

It’s gran turismo so it’s pretty familiar and awesome. I’ve spent the last few years playing forza horizon, but I could never get into Motorsport. The number of cars is definitely lacking though
