52 quarterback hits, 16.5 sacks, eight forced fumbles and one interception in 50 career games. These numbers are pretty good. If Gregory is on the field he is an exceptional player. The experts in the NFL who ranked him one of the top free agents are not all wrong. People are focusing on the penalty in the playoff game and ignoring what he does when he plays. He is disruptive and a playmaker. If his off the field issues are behind him he is well worth the $14 million a year. I would prefer him of Fowler.

A portion of the fan base is not good with breakups.

maybe BUT doubt it

in DQ scheme fowlers career is far better than Gregorys not sure why fans cant go look themselves, its not close hes better in every stat line..Fowler could easily be the starter with split rotation possible with Armstrong, add in parsons part time and well we still have the draft but yes for the cost of Gregorys deal we sure got a lot more players who possible will produce at nice level.

Proof

more career sacks then Gregory so whats Gregory then with 14 threads on how jerry messed up not making sure he stayed LOL

so Gregorys been here since 2015

85 total tackles 16.5 sacks 8 FF (hes got a knack for this )

Fowler since 2016

200 tackles 35 sacks 10FF yes MORE than randy huh

The comparison is moot. Randy has not played a full six years. He stayed a member of this team, due to his relationship with Jerry. He took advantage of an affordable offer. Also, why did not Fowler draw the same interest as Randy, if he is so much better.

Randy Gregory is just trash.....and I'm glad he is gone. Denver still hasn't signed Gregory....because no one knows where he is. Wouldn't shock me if he turned up in a gutter w/ some homeless chick.

You literally sound ignorant. You are taking his leaving mighty hard, for someone who's glad he's gone.

Washington < Cooper
Fowler < Gregory
Steele < Collins
Gallup = Gallup
LVE = LVE

The Cowboys are just filling their roster. They are not improved at this point.

And I have another concern. Players are getting signed but not Kearse. I am worried that the longer this drags out the less likely they sign him. He was a big part of this team and another JAG is not going to fill his shoes on the Cowboys defense.

I believe that this SHOULD be..

CeeDee < Cooper at WR1
Steele = Collins at RT.
Gallup < CeeDee at WR2
Washington < Gallup at WR3
LVE = LVE at MLB. BUT... LVE is a MUCH better player at WLB.

As for Kearse, I like him and how he played for us. BUT keep in mind that he, himself, was a JAG when we signed him. He was widely expected to be a Camp body. Yes, he blossomed here and I would love to keep him, but you are making it sound like he was an All-Pro or something, even BEFORE he signed here.

They’re doing what they do every year. Try to resign “their own”. Then sign a bunch of marginal FA’s to short term deals and use them as depth with hopes of them over achieving like Kearse did last year.

Then try and find a star or 2 impact player, plus more depth in the draft.

Something tells me you didn't watch him play last season......or ever.

Remember this time last year everyone dismissed the Kearse signing? I may not get super pumped on some of these, but declarations these guys suck are just stupid.

I'll admit I hate the approach where we signs a bunch of low to mid level guys instead of one or two studs. These signings aren't bad though. I'm just hoping we get one big name.

I agree, trying to be optimistic but have a hard time believing Kearse will have another career year, just like I don't believe Diggs will come close to that amount of INTs again. But there will be some people who have their breakout seasons we didn't see coming either.

3rd overall pick on his 4th or 5th team? I've seen enough! Most of that whole first round draft class was terrible! Something tells me you gotta watch more football son!

Do you really believe a bunch of bargain basement players are winning a championship? You do understand, that only reason the DFT is in this fix is due to their incompetence?

not at all. That’s why I called it a rebuild. Have to shed contracts before acquiring talent. The JAGS we are getting now are a stop gap. Why would I expect a championship during the first stages of a rebuild process?

Re-signing LVE was a big mistake. He's had only one good season, his rookie. He's missed 19 games thereafter. The gap between LVE & Parsons was a wide one. Micah was a phenom all year long while LVE only turned it on late. Not good!

It was a hard choice, but LVE won out over Wagner.

I am correct to assume only Washington is expected to start? Armstrong, Fowler and LVE are depth. Can't imagine they're expecting bargain bin/low-cost players to actually start and have an impact.

Depth is not only for back up, but for what happens if your draft doesn't go as planned. I don't see these signings as a statement that they aren't going to try to improve the roster in lesser talented spots, but more making sure they don't wind up completely thin at these positions on a hunch they'll get a guaranteed playmaker at every draft round. My guess is that the extra money is for preparing to sign Micah, Lamb, and Diggs to longer term deals in the foreseeable future.

LOL at the 4 is better than 1 argument.:lmao2:

If that was the case, why did they try to resign Gregory then? Obviously they did not think 4 is better than 1 when they were handing Gregory a contract for $70 mill.

So now, after you lost Gregory who you tried to sign, now you come up with 4 is better than 1 argument?

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaabaaaaaaaaaaahaaaa.............just another example of LOSER BALL by this front office.

For the money we spent on Dak, we could’ve built a whole D-line.

I'm starting to think that's one way to test football knowledge. If fans think Fowler is just as good as Gregory (as some here believe), then why did NFL GMs not see it that way? I mean, they could be wrong, but there's generally a reason or reasons one player is valued higher than another. It is these GMs' and scouting directors' jobs to study these players, so they should have a good understanding of the players' value.

Theres just no scenario where Gregory, Armstrong, LVE, and Washington couldn’t all have been signed. The idea that it was 1 or the other is naive
