<snip>

Vicky White was a "model employee," according to Singleton. The county's district attorney, Chris Connolly, called her "the most solid person at the jail."

She never displayed any hint that something was amiss.

<snip>

Her last day at work was Friday, when she fabricated a court-ordered psychological evaluation for Casey White. She said she needed to drive him to the appointment.

The two never returned, and authorities realized they had disappeared that afternoon around 3:30 pm.

I heard a snippet on the news, in which someone was saying that prisoners have nothing but time to work on tricking guards. Don't know, maybe he really cares about her, but either way, how can someone let that happen?

I've got a bad feeling about this.

He's free from prison, which was his #1 goal. What does he need her for? When this all ends, she may not be alive.

Hope I'm wrong.

If she kept her wits and he turned on her at some point, he may be the one no longer alive instead. It will not help her from eventually being arrested and incarcerated for aiding and abetting a murder convict's escape but it would insure the public's safety from anything he would otherwise do without her consent. Just my two cents.

I don't know. She's a prison guard, not a Green Beret. He's a murderer, and probably much bigger and stronger. Plus, if he decides to kill her, he probably won't tell her first.

She is a law enforcement officer trained to shoot to kill. She might pull the trigger in the middle of giving her the side eye. And bullets could not care less how big or strong anyone is.

Those two are probably in Central America by now. She sold her house in a hurry shortly before this.
I would be interested in their method of travel if that is true. By vehicle would be my first guess. Surely the investigation would have gotten some clue if travel had been by plane or ship--even if transactions were made in cash. There would be too many cameras and potential eyewitnesses if they had chosen either of those two forms of transportation.

Crazy stuff. She also handed in her retirement papers the day before. She was set to retire the day after she helped him escape. Crazy lady.

She literally blew ALL those years for a murderer she fell in love with. Did he use her? Of course. He had nothing to lose, she lost EVERYTHING! And will be looking out from the bars she protected all those years.

I don't really have sympathy for her if he dumps or murders her. I don't think she deserves death, but she made her bed. She knew what she was getting into. I hope they're both caught and jailed.

There's an old saying that "Love is blind." Is it also stupid too? What made her do this? She knows what he's capable of.

Just being an LEO means nothing. Look at how many 'trained' LEO's miss and screw up all the time. And just how often does a prison guard actually practice with a fire arm?

I know a prison guard in Upstate New York. He'd never had any type of law enforcement training before applying for the job. I can't say I'm 100% certain, but if I remember correctly, he went from applying, to training, to working in the prison in about 6 months. To me, it doesn't exactly seem like razor sharp instincts and experience are a huge requirement.
