11 seasons in the league:
61 total. Three seasons with 8 and 6; two with 3; one with 2; only one season with double digit scores =10.
1 TD/14.4 receptions. That’s awfully low for a receiver of his skills and this era. Not elite.

Julio Jones sucks in the redzone. Has since college. I like scoring, he'll make one side of the field completely useless because he can't get open when the field is smaller.

Julio Jones biggest seasons

2012 - 79 receptions, 10 TDs
2014 - 104 receptions 6 TDs
2015 - 136 receptions 8 TDs
2016 - 86 receptions 6 TDs
2017 - 88 receptions 3 TDs
2018 - 113 receptions 8 TDs

This is god awful for someone who was force fed the ball for the majority of his career. Even the year when the Falcons had one of the best offenses in NFL history, he had a whopping 6 TDs. Julio Jones relied on a big playing field to utilize his speed, he has lost a step and can't stay healthy. He has very little use here.

1 year 1 million guaranteed with up to 4 million in incentives.

What's the worst that could happen?

Really only need him the first 4 to 5 weeks of the season for when Gallup is still missing games.

If he's healthy for the playoffs that would be a huge plus for the offense.
We need to see what we have, in the players we have, before we bring someone else in. If a vet on the roster week one, we owe him for the whole year. So it's best to bring vets in after week one, unless injures take place in camp.

He might be OK in certain situations / limited reps, but tbh if we were to sign him it means Tolbert is not ready.
All NFL training camps start
I'd take a flyer on him. If nothing else he'd be a great mentor for the Wr room.
Lived in metro Atlanta all of my adult life -so I have been a "Falcons Observer" as a "hobby".
The first half of his career, Jones did the work ethic within the game - plus had the off-field llfe and undertakings that matched his success as a great player.
However - he became the WR diva (envious of how QB Ryan was treated)
- and he strong-armed new contracts basically back-to-back - while "negotiating" Jones getting prefrencial treatment re workouts and practices = OTAs through TCs & preseasons.
Havic and Dre11 - hard pass on bringing in that (former great) player into TC.

He’s an unbelievable mentor -- there’s no question about it -- who is about as generous with his time, teaching people, as any player I’ve been around," Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan said of Jones. “ ... He’s got incredible experience, a wealth of knowledge, understands our offense inside and outside. He’s certainly expedited the development of all those guys."

The fact Julio Jones is still unsigned just three weeks before training camps are opening shows where his career is. Someone is bound to sign him but I wouldn’t. He may have to wait until someone ends up with an injury. Probably won’t take long for him to come down with one. He’s had an assortment of hamstring issues.

This usually happens with veterans. He's most likely waiting to sign with a team that becomes desperately thin at WR during camp from injuries.

OBJ remains unsigned but I doubt he'll be ready week 1.

Other than the TEs they don't have that big bodied red zone threat. It would have to be a cheap deal but I wouldn't mind him in the WR room that could use some veteran leadership. As an aside, it's just incredible how quickly WR's like Julio and Dez go from All-Pro's to fans not even wanting them on a cheap one year deals. It's a brutal league.

He’s not waiting teams are waiting. This only happens with veterans who are aging and or have injury issues. OBJ may not be ready until mid season if even then. Julio only lasted one season in Tennessee. It may take an injury at WR for him to latch on with another team. He can’t be counted on. He battles a nagging injury every year.

2ND YEAR Falcons GM Terry Fontenot and HC Arthur Smith - with the blessing of owner Artthur Blank - swung for the fences to go get Deshaun Watson...therefore cutting ties with the greatest QB \ top 5 franchise player ever in Matt Ryan.
Opinion from someone on a cookie-cutter fansite (every NFL team has a FANSIDED website) doesn't weigh much IMO.
Falcons moving on from their past greats.
