it was just an example that we can all appreciate. Dakota nor Romo compare to Favre. As far as deflecting to prop up Romo, his playoff record of 2-4 speaks for itself…..I won’t defend that for any reason.
Of course Dak doesn’t Dak is playing his 6th season. Hell at this point Mahomes doesn’t compare to Favre…..

I think I heard Romo once sat "Is that all you got, your gonna have to hit harder than that". Classic Favre.

Favre was Mahomes before Mahomes existed... i'll take Favre any day of the week Tony lost games gambling way too much IDK how this is even a conversation lol

Favre was one of the biggest gamblers of all time. Romo was conservative compared to him.

The hell is with this Favre revisionism?

That was your take on my post? You’re more lost than the ones who would take Romo over Favre. Lol Just because Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson won the same number of Super Bowls that Brett Favre did doesn’t mean they’re on the same level. Someone actually needs to explain that to you? Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson never won a single league MVP. Brett Favre won three MVPs. Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson will never sniff the Hall of Fame because they were average QBs who were carried to a championship by a great defense. A lot of QBs won Super Bowls that weren’t even remotely close to the level of Brett Favre.
You're argument is based on winning and what's been accomplished, flip it how you want. So Eli Manning over Favre? :lmao2:

last season, mahomes looked very Favre-like. Reckless throws and turnovers that didn’t make any sense. One thing Dak has done very well is take care of the ball. I consider that his greatest attribute

The argument is who would you take Favre or Romo and you’re flipping it into an argument based on Super Bowl wins by mentioning Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson. You’re putting both of them on the same level as Brett Favre. LOL! According to your criteria Eli Manning and Jim Plunkett were better than Favre because they won more Super Bowls. Brett Favre appeared in back to back Super Bowls, winning one of them and he won three league MVPs along with 13 playoff wins. When he retired he was the all-time leading passer with over 71,000 yards and he had thrown more TD passes than any QB in NFL history and you’re putting him on the same level as Brad Johnson and Trent Dilfer and you think Eli Manning was better because he won two Super Bowls.:facepalm: You sound like a typical, casual armchair fan who doesn’t have a clue about football. Go waste someone else’s time!

Favre, he was more clutch when he needed to be.
Favre had more natural talent than most great QBs from that time period. Sometimes he depended on his natural talent too much and it hurt his team at the worst times. Romo didn’t have the cannon attached to his shoulder that Farve had, but Romo did have a strong arm. Farve was not a X’s and O’s type of QB, but he could improvise to make up for it. I always thought that Romo was a poor man’s Farve. Romo was quickly becoming one of the best QBs in the league, but his injuries was catching up with him.

I don’t know what Mahomes was doing….he was erratic and then they decide to let Tyreke Hill walk? Really interested in seeing how he pulls this off.

Anyone who would take Romo over Brett Favre has really lost it. Lol Romo was a poor man’s Brett Favre. Favre was by far the greater player. He was a first ballot Hall of Famer who led the Packers to back-to-back Super Bowls, winning one of them. He also played in several conference title games and won 13 playoff games. When he retired he held several all-time NFL passing records.
i would pick favre without a doubt but romo had some good years in which he was robbed by the cowboys defense. favre played on teams that had better defenses to bail him out when he made mistakes. romo was not so lucky. especially between 2007 to 2014. romo made mistakes but his defense would let him down in crucial parts of those games.

c
We know who Jerry Glanville would take.....
it was mike holmgren who know how to reign in favre to make him the qb he was. without him favre may only had last five years topps in the nfl. coaching does matter sometimes. romo was stuck with jason garrett most of his career so we know how that went.

The defenses Romo had were definitely a problem but he never had the arm Favre had to overcome the mistakes he made. Brett Favre made a lot more plays in critical situations. He didn’t commit as many untimely turnovers. If he tossed a couple of picks he could overcome them with 5 TDs. Favre’s arm strength allowed him to get away with throws Romo couldn’t get away with. Romo had a tendency to unravel and lose his poise after a couple of big mistakes. He suffered some major meltdowns.

I mean technically he was traded but he was traded because they didn’t want to pay him what he asked for.

They couldn’t afford to pay him after what they paid Mahomes. Teams that have high-priced QBs are going to have a tough time paying elite WRs. Cincinnati is going to have their work cut out for them trying to sign Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase. If Chase continues to produce he’ll be looking for $30 million per.
