I don't care what you hear from whomever ....

A lot is riding Sunday...

Rush wins Sunday night he will have earned the starting spot.

Now...if this team decides to change course.. going back to Dak...and we start losing...then this falls on McCarthy....and you got bigger problems.
No he's not, Floaty

Lol...Jameis Winston, Carson Wentz, and Matt Stafford are turnover machines. It's easy to not turn the ball over when Rush doesn't have to pass it through the first four games because the defense and special teams are playing at a high level. How he handles adversity will truly measure the type of QB he is. So before we anoint him, wait until he is sacked 8 times (Dak v. Atl. 2017) because the o-line can't protect his blindside, or wait until the defense and special teams take a day off and he has to carry them to victory, or wait until opposing defenses breakdown game film and expose his weaknesses for what they are, or God forbid wait until he has to come back from a serious injury and play at a high level. He's just a backup QB that is managing to not lose the game while the rest of the team wins it for him, nothing more, nothing less.

Cooper Rush for 2022: 118 pass attempts with 0 interceptions

Dak for 2022: 29 pass attempts with 1 interception

If it's easy to not turn the ball over why couldn't Dak do it then?

Prescott had an amazing rookie season. And Cooper Rush is nowhere near as good as Prescott. Yeah I guess anything is possible especially with Jerry Jones. But it will be just another sad case of being wrong

Rush hasn't made mistakes. That's all. The only game I'll say he won is the Bengals game and only because of what he did on the last drive. Other than that, he hasn't had a significant hand on winning. What he does is not screw things up and make a play here or there. If he does that against the eagles great. But now if he goes and puts up 300+ yards 2 TDs and they win, I could certainly see the cowboys saying Dak is not 100% yet.

Are you kidding? Look how this team makes decisions.....game plan. It's all by committee. Everyone has imput. Especiallyin the game planning...I can tell the difference between Kellen's plays....Robert Prince bubble screens...McCarthy's inside trap running game the GB is known for...Trust me...Rush wins Sunday....this will be a "committee" decision...what is better for the team going forward. This is a team that is winning..
You don't break that up just to justify some guys contract. That's just dumb.
The real dumb thing is that you are so blinded by hatred of Dak that you think a backup QB is the answer.
He has played great but the reason we are winning is because of the defense not Cooper Rush.
Dak has struggled in the last playoff game and I think it carried over into this year. No pre-season snaps, nothing. Stupid coaching.
Our superstar OC didn’t help him any in the first game this year when we were running the ball good and he decides to go with all the trickery b.s. and kill any momentum in that game.
Do you really think Cooper would have done anything against that D? No.
I think KM was forced to simplify the offense and it has worked. No trickery just basic football. I think it’s better for the team. Get some plays that work and develop an identity. This team doesn’t do one thing well (on offense)and I think that’s all on coaching.
If they stay with the same offense WHEN Dak comes back I think it will be more successful with the added attack of Dak having a much better throwing arm than Rush. Nobody is scared of Cooper’s arm.
Unfortunately our OC will try and show everybody how great he is and change everything that worked recently and bring back the garbage plays.
And the Dak haters will sing once again.
GO COWBOYS!!

Because he was needed to win games with the kind of defenses we had.

If you truly believe Rush is the difference in why we are winning games , I’d like to see some links of analysis from noted sports writers documenting.

Rush isn't wining, the team is.
Yes but Rush is doing what we need . He’s certainly played an important role in the success during this stretch.

Rush and this 27th ranked offense isn’t what is carrying this team. It’s Parsons and our 7th ranked defense .

This is very different to Romo. Dak’s contract has already received 3 signing bonuses. This means Jerry has pushed so much of Dak’s contract back into future years that not only would it be implausible to cut him this year or next, but he’s very likely going to require an extension to alleviate this problem.

Bottom line is 11 wins with Dak as the rest-of-season QB is better longterm than the headache that would surround Cooper Rush finishing a 13-4 season. Jerry won’t let that happen.

Worst contract in Cowboys history, the no-trade-clause was just a strawberry on top.

Cooper is not a starting caliber QB or not the quality of QB you would want to expect from a starter.

He’s done a fantastic job of not blowing it.

I never said Rush is the difference but he helps the team by not turning the ball over and Dak had the same defense in week 1 as Rush has had so no more Dak excuses.

So, you are going to use only this seasons opener as the sample size for Prescott ?

And I agree. Rush has been a great help not turning the ball over . But up until this season we haven’t had a defense that only needed 10-16 passing for 102 yards from our QB.

Dak was carried by the defense that generated 35 TOs last season.

Hell, the defense gave him 2 TOs against the Chiefs and he could only muster 3 FGs. He threw the ball 43 times for a whopping 216 yards.

Against the Saints, Commanders and Giants the defense generated 4 TOs during his ‘slump’ and he was good for nothing but FGs and pick 6s to Commander LBs and needed a pick 6 by a defense to secure a win against a third-string QB with a broken hand on the Saints.

Dak was 0-3 against teams when the defense didn’t generate and TOs and the 1 game they won, against the Vikings, Rush won it.

How did he do in the 12 games we won?

That’s the thing. While we haven’t been an Elite team with Prescott , we have been a playoff team. And that was without this type of defense .

Let’s see what we can do with him over a span of time with this caliber defense . If it’s no better then we can move on.

He was so bad he was top 10 in basically every QB stay out there…just awful.
