In my opinion, at present, few of the top-paid offensive players are playing up to their contracts:

Tyron Smith - injuries
Ezekiel Elliott - can never play up to that contract
Dalton Schultz - franchise TE?
Dak Prescott - his recent play certainly isn’t up to the cost
CeeDee Lamb - at this point, I’m not paying big money to keep him. When was his last 100-yard game?

It's possible that it was a silly play call AND Dak took a big risk on 1st down AND CeeDee ran a terrible route. Everyone arguing about the difference between an AND vs. OR in a sentence.

And like someone else said. This game was won by 20 points. In a get-right game I'm generally going to be OK with aggressive and trying things like this out.

No, it isn't. Dak threw the ball where it was suppose to go. It would have been a possible td if CeeDee ran a good route. The only thing to question is if the coaches should have thrown with 40 seconds left in the half or take a knee when they led by 14.

If everything they say is true, how does a deep in become a deep post. Now you can say miscommunication and call it a day. If that were correct OK fine, but the QB then should know, hold on he ran a deep post not a deep in. If that was supposed to be a deep in or drag it is the worse one I have ever seen, my guess is an adjustment was called and either Dak called the wrong one or CD heard the wrong one. But even still with play the safety is too close and due to proximity to the LB it is not a pass you zip in like a laser, there needed to be a little loft which gives the safety time to play the route.

A) I actually don't mind Stanback. I'm not huge on the rest of the cast of Talkin' Cowboys, but I can listen to Stanback

B) He literally drew it out for you all that CeeDee messed up that route, and, you can see he kind of pulled up off of the route there at the end, which resulted in the INT. I'm not a Dak apologist, but I do find it funny that the haters sniff out blood in the water like a shark anytime Dak has a play that goes sideways. Sometimes WRs actually don't do their job, as is the case here. I think we can all agree that Lamb hasn't quite turned out to be the player we all hoped he was going to be so far.

I just watched the video - Stanback is operating under the assumption that either this is an Option Route and CeeDee has the option to run a deep-In, or that it was the call. But read a twitter thread that said the call was a post and there was no option. If that's the case, it was still a lazy route but still not without risk. Best case would have been a catch and immediate tackle on the post route.

He's dead right if that was an option or called deep-in. I read a thread from Sturm who confirmed with a team source that it was a post route, no option. Still a lazy route then.

I agree with all except #4. His play has been comparable to his peers that are also in the 40M+ range

You make the throw ahead of time expecting the WR to be there. QB will release the pass at the top of the rout as the WR breaks the ball should be there.

Really? From mid season last year until this past Sunday, I don’t think Prescott’s level of play has been close to his pay grade. Hopefully that performance against Chicago is a sign of things to come.

Well I guess it depends on what metric you’re using to judge them. If it’s regular season wins, he’s been above average in that time. If it’s a championship he falls short, but then so does every other 40M+ qb except Stafford since he won the SB. If it’s stats, I would say his stats are top 10 in that timeframe. So that’s where I was getting the notion that he’s been comparable to his peers
