Maybe a good reason to invest in getting younger guys some playing snaps during the season before throwing him out there in overtime.

Noah Brown has completely disappeared from the offense since Gallup came back, not sure why Tolbert and Turpin can't get a few of his snaps.

Why are you even asking the ref anything while getting ready for a play??

But it wasn't called a false start. The ref said "offsides" on tolbert
I'm sorry, I know what it was called...

In my post I meant to say "In the moment, watching the game live, I thought the flag was on the motion. The TE in motion was clearly moving towards the LOS. I think that's considered a false start.

Probably be the only offsides, on an offensive player, when he's moving backwards, in the history of the NFL.

He stepped back an inch when he needed to back up about a foot, at least. He likely knows better, now that it's too late.

The Cowboys' staff surely explained it by now. All he had to do was look to his right for the ball to know where to be. That's Peewee League stuff. Hard to believe a player at this level didn't know what to do. You're right; it had to be a rare incident.

I GUESS he never played football before that game. when your out there in the clear and what about the other receivers there is a draft pick that was wasted.

Also watch the play and it looks look he checks with the ref. Can post pics in a sec

Typical loser mentality.......don't depend on refs to tell you what the rules are....Use your own FREAKING head. You could tell just looking at it, he was offsides. Tolbert should be looking down the LOS, not at the refs.. If he can't figure it out on his own, he is far from being ready to play now.. Refs do screw up a lot...but this is one time you have no one to blame but your own self. Tolbert just being brain dead for a second. I've heard more excuses from the players/coaches here than a 6 year old.

The other question that I haven't seen asked or addressed is "Why was he in the game at that time?"

I mean the guy has barely played. Why would you trust him to be on the field during a crucial situation?

Tolbert has no reason even being active.

He's been that bad.

Nothing has changed my mind, horrible pick in the 3rd.

Here’s the video that aligns with Tolbert’s telling of the event.

Bottomline, he had no awareness and didn’t line up off the ball enough.

Tolbert: Ref told me to scoot up.

Everyone else: So what did you do?

Tolbert: What do you think I did? I moved back an inch.

1. Did not take a true visual of where the ball was.
2. Did not take his vision off the ump
3. Told a lie that the ump induced him

Chaps, an idiot we have.

Did we ever get what actually happened? Did she tell him to both move up then back? Or one or the other?

Having never played football myself, but I would think lining up correctly should be second nature to a nfl 3rd round pick…and he was at least a yard offside…

I’m surprised he didn’t see this himself. He’s pretty close to the ball. Not near the sideline where you need the ref’s perspective.

I don't understand why the ref would tell a player where to line up. That makes no sense to me at all. Either he's lined up correctly and the play goes on, or he's not and he gets flagged. I've never heard of a ref interfering like that.
Happens every play across all levels
