So did a lot of other teams. Not only was he a highly rated CB, some considered the best defensive play in the draft.

I know the hype and I could live with "best defensive player in the draft". No shame in that. They had him as the best since Deion Sanders came out.

You guys bellyache about us giving bad attitude Jay Ratliff a big fat contract and now want to draft Johnny-Me-First-Football and don't expect the same thing to happen one he hits the pro level? Uh....I think I would pass on him for that reason alone.

He won't be there. Jerry would take him if he is. I think JM is going to be a bust. He hasn't really done crap in college. All hype. Kids is going to get crushed in the NFL

I agree and hope that someone else takes himearly.

If he's there at 16 then you pass on him and pray Donald or Pryor are still there.

As of right now I can't bring myself for drafting him. To me he's got the height and speed ratio of Wilson out of Seattle. However watching him throw the ball he doesn't have to velocity/arm strength of the Wilson. Wilson can make plays in the pocket whereas Johnny football has a hard time making plays consistently from within the pocket. Wilson will play within the confines of the offense where as Johnny football is a gunslinger like Romo.

So my conclusion is I pray somebody likes him so much so I can trade out and pick up additional draft picks and the defense of player I want.

I take him, Romo has back issues and we all truly know that is what took Aikman down. Johnny has more moxie than Romo, can extend plays longer and gives his WR opportunities to make plays. Romo needs serious competition and whomever wins the job plays. Just makes a strong position even stronger.

BPA is best way to go.

If he grades out as a potential franchise QB, take him. You have an aging(34) QB coming off 2 recent back surgeries. Manziel is ready to go in 2016 with 2 years of NFL coaching and practice under his belt. The state this team is currently in, the BPA should be the focus with the future in mind, not the 2014 season.

Didn't we pass on Randy Moss for Greg Ellis?

We all know that if he's there at #16, Jerry won't be able to resist drafting him. It won't be a Randy Moss situation... it'll be because Manziel will bring eyes/attention to the "show" It'd be a bad move to take Manziel over a need (IMO)

Based on what? Manziel has yet to play a down in the NFL.

I would not take him in the 1st round. We need pass rushers and defensive linemen in a big way. We need to fix what is really broken than spend our 1st round picks on QB that is not a sure thing in the NFL.
