Guys... This signing reminds me a lot of Rolando McClain.

That guy was Super talented but he sucked in Oakland as well.

Get him in Dallas and he looks amazing.

This has a ton of upside with little risk and he wont even be the feature back.

Exactly. Ppl are all hyped about Williams, but McFadden was a better prospect and less injured

The Joneses have been strutting like they are cool, calm and collected and waiting for the market to come to them but they are showing some panic IMHO. Rivers, the FB, Brinkley and McFadden are not better than what you would draft in rounds 3-7. This team is feeling like all depth and no starter quality at RB, D line, LB and most of the secondary but hopefully they make rounds 1 and 2 count in the draft. I suspect we will be calling Gordon or Gurley a Cowboy and it smells like Gurley. They could view McFadden as a bridge player who is likely to be injured around the time Gurley is recovered.

I don't see this deterring the Cowboys from looking at RB in this draft. If McFadden passes physical and is on the team believe me I'm pulling for him to show himself as the runner people felt he was coming out of Ark. Hope he comes in motivated after years of frustration in Oakland

If he can become the guy everyone thought he'd be coming into the NFL, the Cowboys will very happy.

It's probably a stretch, however, it gives us something to wish for.

Old people get up earlier in the morning, Stephen and McClay were still sleeping while all of this was going down.

Lol probably true . I'm bothered by signing Brinkley and McFadden . Normally we get some guys with upside. These last two are washed up players.

Nearly $6 million total for McFadden. Wow.

Jerry didn't like people saying he wasn't in charge anymore. So he goes and does a Jerry thing to prove he's still the boss.

You totally missed the key words "up to".

Melton could have made a lot more than what he did, but "up to" was present in his situation also.

Pretty cheap contract and next to no guaranteed money in case they cut him in camp.

Why is everyone jumping off a cliff?

Because we're supposed to be looking at defense, not ****s like McFadden.

It gives you a veteran RB. One that has rushed for 1000 yards in this. One that we don't currently have on this roster. That's what it changes

It gives them proven mediocrity and a known bust.

Anyone who's ever carried the ball in the NFL qualifies as a 'veteran'. And plenty of available options have gone well over that minimal 1,000 yard bar you've set. This guy has accomplished that 'feat' exactly once in 7 seasons.

No interest in CJ Spiller or even Ridley, but they sign this proven loser?

But some people will line up to praise whatever moves the Cowboys do or don't make.

If the guy plays at 100% and stays healthy he's just as good if not better than Murray and he has never run behind a line like this. This is a McClain type project and I'm all for it. This is McFaddens chance to change his life around as the RB for the Cowboys on a SB run.

Obviously all our eggs won't be in his basket. This will be very interesting.

With all possible offense completely meant I am going to trust McClay and the pro scouting dept over the forum here.

We've brought in any number of reclamation projects and marginal NFL types then they've excelled here.
So when we bring a guy in it is unlikely to be about dartboard tosses.

We really have been good at targeting guys who can come in and play in our systems for a cheap price.
Unfortunately it usually builds these guys up and then they want ot get paid elsewhere but it does mean we should trust McClay to find talent.

We aren't going to spend big money but we also aren't going to camp with 40 players.
There will be signings in this lower part of the roster.

I'd much rather they be Ro McClain types than Brandon Car types. All upside no risk.

You dont mean,,,,you are going to trust,,,,professionals,,,over,,,,,the zoners? Thats blasphemy sir. haah

Why is everyone jumping off a cliff?

Because Super Bowls are won in the spring so most are in panic mode because we see the trophy slipping away like a Russell Wilson interception on the one yard line as time expires. ;)

Eh, pair him up with a good rookie, and I think they can make this work.

Now if they go BPA, which supposedly they do (more or less), what if the BPA in round 1 is an RB and we're talking about one of the top 2 backs in the draft? At that point, I think things get really interesting, considering their needs on defense.

Let me know what you think after his first 60 yd. scamper.

At 27, it will be difficult to find someone on D that will make an immediate impact. I would go RB without even thinking about it twice
