I'm not sure we share the same definition of the word homage.

Bruce was yelling "Jack." Jack O'Dwyer was the Metropolis branch executive for Wayne Corp.

I also thought it sounded a lot like "dad" but knew that it wasn't right, so figured it was either Jack or Dan.

To me, homage would have meant Snyder and Gadot doing or re-enacting something directly attributed to Lynda Carter's portrayal of the character. For instance, the twirl Carter did changing from civilian clothes to her uniform. Or the sound effects that accompanied the use of her powers. Or a line or phrase which Carter used during her series. Lynda Carter doing a brief cameo would have been a transparent homage.

If I understand correctly, Gadot playing the role that Carter previously played honors Carter by default. If so, every actor or actress playing a role previously played by someone else indirectly honors the former performer. Ben Affleck paid homage to Christian Bale. Christain Bale paid homage to George Clooney. George Clooney paid homage to Val Kilmer. Val Kilmer paid homage to Michael Keaton. Michael Keaton paid homage to Adam West. Cross-references nets Affleck to Keaton or Bale to Kilmer or Clooney to West. Lots and lots of combo homages.

Dang it. Why did I mention Adam West? Now I got that stupid Batman theme bouncing around in my skull...

I saw The Hunger Games for the first time. What an odd movie. Parts of the scenes in the battlefield were not stitched together very smoothly.

Rating: 6/10.

We watched Zootopia a few weeks ago and I thought it was a great movie for the kids.

With Kids: 8.5 out of 10

Without Kids: Just go watch Deadpool again

I had heard of her, but when I was watching the movie, I had no idea that's who that was. I thought Jennifer Lawrence was older. Or maybe she is, but she looked very young in that movie. I still really don't know who she is. (I don't watch many movies or broadcast TV)

I started to watch "Despicable Me" to see what all the fuss was about with those little yellow tictac looking things. Turned it off not long after he adopted the little girls. There was nothing about that movie interesting. Finding Nemo and Madagascar are 1000x better than that movie.

Yeah, worse than PJTHEDOORS thinks Batman vs Superman was: 2/10

If you can find it...watch the Japanese movie Battle Royale...hunger games is pretty much a rip off of it.

I think that about ALL comic book movies, except for the Batman with Heath Ledger. He made it watchable.

Hateful Eight - I don't think it is one of his best but I still enjoyed the film. However this is kind of like death proof in that I doubt I would ever buy it for my DVD collection (unless it might be in the $5 bin) or I doubt I would buy an online copy unless it was on sale for a low price.

Batman vs Superman: 6 out of 10.

I posted specifics in the BvM thread. Some good aspects and I don't regret spending money to watch it. Where I am disappointed is that this movie had amazing source material and they only made a slightly better than average movie with some serious character flaws. Leaves me pretty worried that they are fine with rolling out "good enough" to put people in seats and sell toys.

Just got back from Batman Vs. Superman.

I enjoyed it.

A great movie? No.

Others have pointed out the flaws... For me the worst being the plot is all over the place.

Yeah, more Wonder Woman!

OK for the two of us, going on a Wednesday afternoon it was $32... Tickets were $7.50 each. A large popcorn, large drink, and Rasinettes were $12. I think I paid $3 for a box of M&M's.

Bone Tomahawk: So, I saw this had Kurt Russel, Matthew Fox and Patrick Wilson and thought I would give it a whirl. It was overall a really good movie, but, just a spoiler, there were a few parts in the movie that I will probably not be able to unsee any time soon. Pretty brutal stuff.

So, thumbs up, maybe 7 out of 10 for the movie itself, BUT I shall not be watching it again.
