Dak, Garrett, and Linehan are catching a ton of flack— and a lot of it is earned. They all have their issues. But underneath all of it is a frustrating truth that is staring us in the face and has undermined this season:

The OL has failed to deliver this year.

Frederick being on IR is just a huge loss, and we have in essence replaced an elite player with an adequate player at the most critical position on OL.

Due to injuries— neither Tyron nor Zack are playing elite football. Their injuries have diminished their effectiveness over the stretch.

Connor lacks the bulk and strength at this point to be effective. Sua Filo is an above average backup that has limitations. Same with Fleming.

The bottom line is we want and expect 2016 offensive production— but we just don’t have the same horses and production from the OL that we had that year.

We are barely scraping by at this point— and Dak's inability to handle pressure well, make quick throws, or improvise and gunsling further hamstring this offense.

Throw in uncreative, predictable playcalling and you get the cluster-cuss we are witnessing at times this year.

It is frustrating but the bottom line is this: what we are trotting out at OL right now is compromising the entire offense. It hurts us the most with inefficiency in the red zone and bad penalties.

Anyway— IMO, had we had a healthy OL this year, a lot of our issues on offense would not be as pronounced as they have been.

^^^This x a bazillion

A side note: A lot of folks complain about the dink and dunk which, btw, has won the Pats a bunch of Super Bowls. When you can't protect the QB, the OC has to dial up a boatload of short passes. Even those are tough to complete when there's a freakin' mosh pit in your face. I just don't think people appreciate how hard it is to play the QB position in the NFL.

Still...RUN DAK MORE!!!!

You can look at the important 4th and 1 last week on the goal line. Could have picked up the first down with out the TD I think.

Everything you mentioned came into play.

JG - His idea to go for it. It was a good one. After the blocked FG we needed 7 to get going. When we stick it in for a TD you can see the confidence get up and the motor cranks. Almost impossible for teams to stop us when we start rolling.

Linehan - He called a longer developing run play. He should have called a 1,2,3 go right up the gut dive or QB sneak. You have a very good running QB. Use him. They use brady to sneak all the time and he is 40 with a lesser line in front of him. Linehan has called this run play before that got stopped. Looked like it was like a counter tray or something. Elliot waiting on a block. Now has he broken that last block he could see the end zone in front of him.

Dak - Not sure if Dak changes the play at the line or not. He has to read the defense and change if needed. He could have called the sneak if he wanted. I don’t put a lot of blame on Dak for this play.. There was another game Elliot was stopped on a goal line play. Dak reads the defense at the line and changes to the counter tray. IT WAS THE RIGHT CALL, should have been a easy walk in TD BUT!!! That brings me to your point.

O- Line - Looney whiffed on his block and allowed the lineman to crash down the line. In the above mentioned play in the other game Elliot was stopped that Dak changes the play it was a player on the O-Line that whiffed again. It was the TE lines up over the DE. He whiffs and again the DE crashes down the line and makes the easy tackle. On these whiffs all the O-Line has to donis chip these guys and they aren’t. It looks almost like a blown assignment. Correctable problems on the goal line they should be working on.

This also comes from using new TEs and back ups playing. Looney has done far better than I expected this year. But Fred is sorely missed. We didn’t expect at the beginning of the year to not have him or Martin being banged up or Tyron , Connor is a rookie playing his best but having problems also. We have to get this game Sunday and shut Tyron and Martin down till playoffs. Not the rest of the team. Don’t be stupid and rest your starters again. We see what happens there. Play them the first half at least. But by all means take care of business this weekend. Trounce the bucs and go home.

We have 2 1st team Pro Bowlers, another 1st round and 2nd round pick on our OL. No excuse because we don’t have an All World OL without Freddy and everyone a 100%. This OL still is one of the best in the league.

Zeke is leading the league in rushing behind it and most QB would lick their chops to have it.

Big difference between run blocking and pass perfection, Greggy. :D

Oline... Shmo-line. While anyone with eyes can see, they aren't playing their best football.... they aren't the biggest problem. Dak is. Zeke leads the NFL in rushing. Dak has enough time on some plays to make a ham sandwich back there yet, still gets sacked or throws the ball 5 feet short of a WR, or 3 yards over their head.

Go back to the putrid O lines Romo had. Many folks complained it was the Olines fault. The most Romo was EVER sacked in a season was 36 times. Dak has been sacked 51 times with 2 games to go this season...!!! To blame it all on the Online is ridiculous. Are people gonna argue this oline is worse than the lines #9 played behind..? Seriously. Are the same folks gonna say, Romo was more mobile or athletic than Dak..??

The cowboys offense has been compromised since last year starting with Zekes suspension. You stop the run or get out to an early lead the cowboys will struggle to win the game. Tha's why zeke runs into the most stacked boxes

Now to the offensive line everyone complains about... The offensive line is never going to be the same as it was two years ago. People act like we have the worst o-line in the national football league which is far from the truth. We have the leading rusher in football and that will not happen with a horrible OL in this day and age. Now if you look at the pass protection the OL is damn near last in this category. This is due to a combination of players being hurt/out, limited quarterback who holds the ball to long, and horrible coaching. Dak also does not know how to read defenses. If you look at Daks average time to throw hes right in the middle of the pack.

Basically the OL is "average" at best this year. Stop blaming them for everything when the coaching is horrendous, quarterback takes unnecessary stats and etc. Of course the stats will not look good

I think this year we start looking at additional talent on the OL, starting with our top pick in the 2nd round. They have to start considering depth at center and tackle. Guard is pretty serviceable as it is with the current rotation of Su'a-Filo/Martin/Williams (assuming he bulks up). Who knows maybe they start trying Williams out at tackle or center this off season? Expand his role a bit and make him even more versatile? Maybe they could reconsider moving La'el back to LG and push Connor out to RT? Tyron these last few years is doing his best Sean Lee impression too. Getting him through 16+ games healthy is just not looking like a viable option anymore. If Zeke is the clear strength of the offense, he's only as good as the line in front of him.

Running Dak would help loosen up the D... screens always slow down the rush as well— but our backups aren’t great in space and executing screens correctly with the personnel we have out there is an issue.

We are playing against an easier defense on Sunday which will help— but JPP and McCoy are still going to require professional attention lol... hopefully Zack can go

Dumb.

What happened to the great Aaron Rodgers not being able to handle pressure this year due to a crumbling Oline and having lesser talent around him? Hmm???

What happened to your "most QB’s are capable of handling the pressure better" mantra in this situation with this particular QB?

Just be quiet with your unintelligible Dak hate.

Hmmm...

3974 yards, 23 passing tds, 2 ints, 57.9 qbr, 23.7 team PPG, 264 passing yards/game

Vs

3337 yards, 17 passing tds, 8 ints, 52.4 qbr, 19.7 team PPG, 216.6 passing yards/game

And Rodgers is playing behind a much worse o line.

Do you think that maybe defense could possibly have something to do with the packers lack of success? Or are you too “dumb” to process any information that doesn’t have to do with Dak being great?

You should get informed first before making a complete fool of yourself for all to see.

From 2 different but reputable sources:

Pay attention especially to the pass protection section...

1st of all, YOUR exact words were Rodgers is playing behind a “crumbling o-line” in the 1st post directed towards me. So which is it? You don’t even know what you are arguing at this point you are so delusional.
2nd, as myself and many others have pointed out to you, those #’s don’t tell the whole story of the qb having poor pocket awareness and holding the ball too long. Dak is top 10 in the league for time to throw...argument over of blaming the o line.

Rodgers would light it up behind this OL and run game support.
