Sounds like to me that he described him as a good bus driver.

What else in that quote would say otherwise?

He has been a good bus driver until they needed him to win the game. Which he has done leading the NFL in game winning drives. Clutch.

First 3 years in the league and you expect rookie QB's to carry the franchise? LOL

Let me guess.........you think they should all be like Mahones right? Poor troll.

Mahomes, Watson, Mayfield, Wentz and many other young QBS put the team on their backs and not the other way around..

There's a difference between a franchise QB and a game manager.

Look at the difference in Cleveland with Tyrod Taylor (game manager) and Baker Mayfield (franchise QB)..

It was night and day.

Same players, same coaches, same "scheme" and once Baker took the field, that team changed.

Same in Kansas City with Smith and Mahomes..

They are both younger than Dak.

Mahones I love. Wents, I like, but he hasnt been healthy. Baker I would take all day over DAk, but he hasnt even made the playoffs yet. Watson I definitely love.

AS far as putting their team on their backs........................NOT one of those has played in the conservative, run first Garrett offense that Dak has.

Then there is the fact that Dak leads the NFL in game winning drives his first 3 years. So your claim that he "hasnt up the team on his back" is 100% false.

Nothing wrong with a good bus driver that is clutch if thats all you have asked him to do. And certainly THAT in only his first 3 years is something to be very excited about.

NOT something to complain about. Only a troll would do that. And then the notion that he will never improve is also a naive troll trait.

I would be excited about him if he improved from his first year.

Only a naive troll that doesnt understand the dynamics of players around the QB would say that Dak hasnt improved.

Not trying to argue Roy, you're a good guy.

Having said that, don't you think the fact that we play that way and other teams with young QBs don't says everything we need to know?

I remember when Weeden started for us a while back, we had the same conservative gameplan as we have with Dak now. Weeden even posted a 70% completion percentage and kept turnovers to a minimum.. exactly what you need a backup QB to do.
The difference is, Weeden didn't have a top 5 defense that year.

Aikman is the poster child for "needing batteries". His stats were also the embodiment of "mediocre" if not below.
HOF QB "mediocre" ha ha ha ha , have you lost your mind, Watch everyone here comes his favorite word "Troll".

Aikman was great from what I remember. But he did haveme more help than any other recent Cowboys QB. HOFers were all over that team plus he had a great coach who won in college and the NFL.

I’ll give you Mahomes and Mayfield.

Watson is very good too. But he has one of if not the best receiver in the league to throw to.

Wentz though? When has wentz carried a team on his back? The eagles roster is STACKED. They won a super bowl without him and last season had a better record without him.

Wentz hasn’t carried anything.

I get the overall point of your post. I really do. I just happen to think that the number of QB’s who actually “carry” their team, is really small. Like maybe 5 in the whole league.

And usually if they’re carrying. They still don’t win a title. Because they need team help to win a SB.

I don’t think Dak is a bus driver. I’m not even sure bus drivers exist anymore. The days of Neil O’Donnell and Bernie Kosar driving teams to the playoffs are over.

His stats were average, as they were. And yah, he made the HOF. Does that mean anything to you? Probably not.

Because people blame Romo retiring on Dak even though he had nothing to do with it.
.... and so that's a reason to pick sides and not love and/or hate on Romo? weird, man

not saying you have to love Romo, but your justification for picking sides is a bit on the nonsensical side
