I think he only managed 2 QB hits. No tackles. Not sure of the snap count.
Trysten Hill got trapped on that goal line play. If Thompson doesn't fight off his block it's a score.
We're watching a guy who knows how to shoot gaps but doesn't have a clue about playing football.

I think the DT taken prior to Hill was Simmons around pick 16 of the 1st round. If their was not a better talented DT at our pick in the 2nd round, we should have focused on a different need instead of a developmental player. Why do we reach so much on 2nd round picks?Hill didn’t look like an All-Pro or even a really good player during his Cowboys debut, but he looked like someone who has talent that is worth mining and trying to figure out. That’s what Rod Marinelli liked so much about him after all.
If I’m to be the judge I’m giving Hill a C overall for his debut, because that’s the definition of average. And to be clear being average here is okay.
The writer and I share the same thoughts on Hill
He didn't even touch the QB. Unless he shook his hand after the game.I think he only managed 2 QB hits. No tackles. Not sure of the snap count.
He certainly doesn't seem to understand that there is more to the game than getting by a guys shoulderTrysten Hill got trapped on that goal line play. If Thompson doesn't fight off his block it's a score.

That play is not exactly what they call getting "trapped". He touched the QB before the hand-off and was just a few inches from blowing up the RB.
