There are plenty of examples of teams leapfrogging over other teams following CCG weekend when one wins and the other doesn't play so please don't be foolish enough to thin what the committee said on November 11 is the final word.

You can't make a better argument. If the committee thought Utah or Oregon were better than Alabama, they would have told us this week. Sure leapfrogging can happen, but if bama beats Aurburn, why the heck would the committee leap frog Oregon over them? That would make no sense. Oregon and Utah would be mediocre teams in the SEC and anyone who watches football can see the difference.

I will make this prediction.

If the top 3 remain in place, LSU beats UGa in the SEC title game, and Alabama and Oregon (currently 5th and 6th) end up ranked 4th and 5th with one loss each before the final selections....Oregon will go to the playoff
They will then get mauled by LSU

Just because it makes no sense to you doesn't mean it makes no sense. What is it you are having trouble understanding? The committee considers Utah a better team than Auburn. If Auburn loses to UGA, then they will only fall further down. So yeah, a win over Utah is more impressive than a win over Auburn.

And spare me the "anyone who watches football" nonsense. Last year, "anyone who watched football" knew UGA would beat Texas and Alabama would beat Clemson. How'd that work out?

Oh right. The Tulsa Golden Hurricane are ranked #1 in SOS. LMAO

pretty sure the committee isn't using this one.

Tulsa has played 5 teams currently ranked in the top 25. They also played Michigan State and 6-3 Tulane.

Just about any team aside from New mexico state on that schedule would win the AAC

Not sure what that has to do with my question, but ok.

Btw - the AAC currently has 4 teams ranked in the top 25, so your claim is dubious at best..

I'm aware and its charity. The ACC is not top level college football. The entire conference has 1 guy among the NFL top 100 prospects for the 2020 NFL draft. So, its great that schools like Memphis can have impressive records beating other AAC teams but lets not confuse that with even a mid level SEC or Big 10 team. The best team is Cincy and OSU beat them 42-0............and it could have been a lot worse if OSU hadn't pulled their starters in the 3rd quarter.

The ACC has more than 1 guy in the top 100 stop making stuff up. Virginia had the top rated CB until he got hurt and he’ll still be drafted in the first or second round. I know Clemson has a few guys.

Just because someone isn’t an NFL prospect doesn’t mean they aren’t great at the college level. Tim Tebow is arguably the best college QB we’ve seen in the past quarter century, but he was an NFL bust.

That isnt an SOS list.
That is that websites SOS adjusted rankings

That Alabama schedule is currently ranked 67th (or 56th or 80th depending on the service)

Come on now.
Your starting to spew nonsense.

No conference—including the SEC—had more players taken in the top 20 last year.

5 DIFFERENT ACC schools had players taken in the top 20 picks of the 1 st round last year!

Nobody is saying the ACC is better than the ACC. Not by a long shot.
But the NFL is chock full of ACC players...and not just fro Clemson or Florida St.

Yeah, I just looked up 3 services
One had the ACC with 11 in the top 100
The other had it with 12
Et another with 13

Furthermore, the ACC had the most players taken in the top 20 of the draft last year, and the most teams represented

Pretty sure Atl meant the AAC, not the ACC.
Yeah.
Now that read thru his post, I see he means AAC.
Makes more sense.

Even then, the AAC has 4 ranked teams in the coaches poll. None are legit contenders by a long shot, but they aren't bad.
Ohio State did beat Cincy early this year a bit like Clemson beat Bama in the title game last year.
:muttley:
Neither were true indicators, imo.

Jason Garrett must be in disguise today coaching for Michigan State the way they are calling plays with their rusher continually going into the line for 1 or 2 yards, over and over, after getting 5 plus yard gains passing.
