So he waits 13 years to start coaching and by then the game will have passed him by?
Probably. Why would he leave a superior job where he will likely make 10 million annually and get to spend a lot of time with his family to coach.

If he is that dumb, then I don't want him coaching here

One name we've never discussed though is SF's DC. I don't know anything about him. But that team is winning solely because of its defense, so I believe he's got some skills
He's this year's Kris Richard. He was almost fired a year ago.

I do like him but he's also the benefactor of a serious franchise investment into defensive linemen.

Our DL is pretty good. We just need a good DT or 2.

We have Tank, Trysten Hill, overpaid Tyrone Crawford, Dorance Armstrong, and Joe Jackson under contract for next season. Maybe Randy Gregory

Not quite the same as Dee Ford, Nick Bosa, Arik Armstead, DeForest Buckner, and Solomon Thomas.

True. If we retain Bennett and Quinn and get a good DT then it’s a pretty good group.

Meyer intrigues me but he’s never coached in the NFL. Plus I’m afraid his health issues would resurface.

Lincoln Riley hasn’t even been a college head coach long and has never coached in the NFL but the dude can coach some offense and of paired with the right DC could be a homerun hire.

One name to keep an eye on is Jim Harbaugh. There’s been reports he may want out of Michigan at years end and wants to return to the NFL. Yea he’s a strange dude but he’s won as a head coach on the NFL and coached his team to the SB.

If I had my choice of the guys above I’d go Harbaugh. But all three would be solid hires. But will Jerry go all in on this hire or hire a lesser name such as a Roman, Campbell or Defellipo? Or try to capture some Pats magic and go after McDaniels? Will be interesting to see but one thing for sure Red is all but gone. And for that we can all rejoice as the end is near!

No and no.

No more inheriting assistants.

You want a successful on field product? Hire a proven head coach and let him hire his staff.

ken norton jr also hates jerry doesn't he? Norton is the guy jerry wouldn't pay and said he was replaceable and norton went to sf and won a superbowl.
