This smells alot like the kind of thing Jerry will get his media minions to get out there to make something happen, or to at least test the waters to see what the analysis is.

Kinda like when there were dozens of stories about the brilliant football mind of the young savant Kellen Moore just prior to his name being floated as a potential OC.

I have a question. Lets assume for a moment that Urban Meyer will be next years head coach. Will Meyer retain Kellen Moore or hire a new OC and make Dak and the offense learn a new system ? I believe Jerry will want to retain Kellen Moore. If so, would that be a deal breaker for Meyer ?

I don't watch college ball, so I have no idea about Meyer. But that's part of why I'd like a defensive minded HC. I'd like to see what Kellen can do if given the freedom. I also think the defense needs more help than the offense, especially come draft day.

The reason I ask the question is this : NFL offensive schemes are VERY complex. Dak has been in this system for 4 years. I'm not ness convinced Dak should be the future but if he is then installing a new system could set him and the whole offense back. But Im not sure Meyer will see Dak as the future if he is the future coach and he may want to install his own OC and offensive system. I believe Meyer will want to install his own system and draft a QB to fit that system. This will be the problem for Jerry. I am convinced that Jerry will want to retain Kellen Moore. This will limit Jerrys choices to coaches that will want to keep Kellen Moore. This leads me to believe it will be a defensive minded head coach.

-Meyer HC

-Riley OC(to get his feet wet in the NFL rather than jump right into a HC position...then take over for Meyer when Meyer abandons ship.

This is one reason why I think Jerry will end up promoting Kris Richards to head coach. The fact that Jerry will want to retain Kellen Moore will also limit Jerrys search to defensive minded head coaches. Obviously our defense has not performed as well as expected so many might not like that hire not sure I would like it myself.
