I’ve never denied that Holley said that! He says that stupid **** all the time.

I just think he’s an idiot, and you’d have to be a fool to believe that story that Garrett set out to get a promotion by sucking enough to get his boss fired.

Not when you’re the golden boy favorite and an expert at blame shifting.

Yeah. That’s probably what happened. He was the golden boy who’d been fab Ed as the next HC in waiting. But he thought Jerry would be too shy to make the switch outright so he decided to tank the offense for his defensive-minded interim HC instead. Makes a lot of sense.

LOL

You are saying Phillips was his boss?

That alone tells me you have to just excuse yourself from this debate and go find something else to do.

Yes, I made a reference to that obvious fact. If it tells you what you think that tells you, you’re hearing voices, and they’re not very bright.

Care to give examples where Garrett took direction from his "boss"? Ever hear a word from Phillip's mouth that suggested he had any measure of control of that side of the football?

If so, please share.

I know it is tough for you to figure out that Phillips was neutered from the minute he was hired as head coach with his OC in place, but please try to play along.

I also know this is a very hard time for you showing what you felt was the football messiah to be exposed as a total fraud.

After a decade.

Like I said. I don’t think that’s necessarily what happened.

It’s far more likely he just isn’t good enough at the job. As we have been finding out the hard way the past 10 years.

I think Dan Reeves could have helped him when he started, but oh well that didn't happen.

Yes, and quite possibly because Garrett had a problem with it.

That whole ridiculous affair with Reeves was a sad situation that was never explained in full.

And it is almost never ever talked about at all.

I would love to read the tell-all book.

Moore could use some tutelage from a good balanced OC, but not sure if that will happen either

Hiring an older veteran coach in a consultant role is fine. Lots of teams have had success with that.

The only issue there is bad optics.

If that young coach gets developed, then Jerry Jones loses his hand in it since HE was the one who chose him to begin with.

No Bueno.

Sadly, that is the only conclusion you can gather based on what Jones has done in the past.

I can't say if Garrett intentionally stabbed his boss in the back, but I DO believe Garrett sucks enough unintentionally that he didn't need to suck on purpose.

You're the laaaast person to be taking shots at people here. My God I've never seen someone so utterly wrong about something as you w your Garrett worship.

Why didn't you say anything back then Jesse? Or the rest of the team? Romo didn't say anything as well about that..

The whole team must've hated Wade back then to have 100+ guys all keep quite

Owner and general manager Jerry Jones said Tuesday that Garrett would be relieved of that duty moving forward, making him a so-called walk-around coach. In all likelihood, offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Bill Callahan will take over as the playcaller, presumably allowing Garrett to operate on a “big picture” level.

Jones insisted Tuesday that this was in no way a demotion for Garrett, who will enter his third full season as the Cowboys head coach in 2013.

“It’s not a step back for Jason. It’s actually a step forward for Jason in my mind,” Jones said, per the Dallas Morning News. “Make no mistake about it, when I hired Jason to come into the organization as a coach he was hired specifically for his skills for his abilities to call the plays. When he became the head coach, it was at my insistence that he continue to call the plays. It was not at Jason’s insistence.

Of course Jerry is going to spin it after the fact.

Garrett absolutely sandbagged Wade, there were players on the opposing side saying we were running the same basic offense we ran in pre-season
