His son Klein was just hired by the Cowboys as a scout. Also wasn't he on the short list to be hired as OC at that one point?

I would like Kubiak, but I want to keep Kellen Moore no matter what. It will be interesting to see who the DC is or if they hired a defensive guy as HC.
The easiest way to keep Kellen Moore is with a Head Coach that is the real OC because Moore could keep the OC title.

If they hire Meyer or a Head Coach that run the defense, then they'll likely want their own OC.

Why not Ryan Day? This guy is making a very well respected Dabo Swinney look like an amature.

New GM & HC in full control, no interference from the Jonz fam, hiring their own coaches as is standard, and whatever current coaches remain, it's entirely because the new GM & HC want them here... Then, and only then, will we have a chance getting this airplane into flight! Anything short of that...might as well just extend JG's contract...

There are about 1 million coaches between Garrett and Belichick.

Even just an "OK" coach would be an upgrade from Garrett.

Ron Rivera sharing an office with Jerry and living at Jerry's house would be a huge upgrade from Garrett...

If things remain "as is" as far as the staff and JJ control...we'll see...but my money won't be on DC. I'd recommend the same thing I've recommended for the last 25 years..."get your popcorn ready", should be some great games round the league.

Jerry did NOT say that or even imply it.

“College coaches coming directly into [NFL] head coach have the lowest percentage rate of success as opposed to coming from coordinators,” Jones said. “You pay a price for somebody to get up to date.” - Jerry Jones

If that’s not an implication then I don’t know what is.

Eberflus:huh:

He is the DC for the Colts and a quick look at the stats say he is average at best.

Colts 15th in points allowed, 16th in yards allowed...…………….8th against the rush is good, but 22nd against the pass is bad.

Well, at least its an upgrade from Clappy but dam, I was kinda hoping for somebody a little bit better.

I’m hoping for someone better too, but if I had to place a bet, I’d follow the logic trail to Eberflus.

I think they’d prefer Zimmer over Eberflus, but I doubt Jerry would be willing to give up draft picks in exchange for a coach already under contract not named Sean Payton, and I can’t see N.O. releasing Payton from his contract even in exchange for draft compensation.

I’ll have what he’s smoking....put the pipe down...
Zimmer - saw him for 15 years here and he’s a micromanager - no thank you.
Richard - subscribes to bend don’t break - that philosophy needs to go
Harbaugh - looks like Roman was the brains behind his success.
McCarthy - couldn’t do anything with The best QB in the league the last 3 years

We’ll get some NFL assistant after all the big names balk at Jerry’s conditions.

Mike Tomlin would be my choice. Has a 1 year extension. Would need to trade for him and offer a long term deal. He would trade away the prima donna's and me-first players and bring a toughness we haven't seen in a while.

There really is no great "splashy"candidate out there. It's becoming more apparent that Meyer likely will not coach this season. MAYBE Matt Rhule? But i believe Jerry wants an NFL coach. I think the public will be extremely underwhelmed with what happens here.
