Am I the only one who thinks JG would actually do well in the Giants as an OC? Because with our luck, he will.

Will be easy to defend.

1st down - run
2nd down - probably run, maybe pass if first down yielded only a yard.
3rd down - pass
4th down - something boneheaded
I would have started off with "Something boneheaded" on 1st and 2nd down.

Jerry's meddling didn't help but JG was just awful as a gameday coach. And except for 2007 wasn't much as an OC either.

He’d be a good fit for them in that role. Clueless fan opinions aside.

Jerry takes a lot of crap as GM but the Giants front office is full of it. They leaked they wanted to interview Garrett to turn around and 2 mins later hire another guy.

Smart move, insurance for them if their experiment backfires and they've shown they will pull the plug fast. Isn't it interesting that the Giants are asking permission? What's their new HC think about that?

So Garrett either takes a step back or sits out in 2020, unless he thinks the openings are not all out there yet. I am surprised ATL hasn't fired Quinn and years ago, they wanted Garrett.

They didn't stipulate what job they wanted to interview him for.

Can the Giants even hire him in a lesser role while he is under contract as a head coach? Not that it matters because they can wait but I thought there was a rule about hiring coaches from other teams to lesser roles.

He had to interview with Jerry as well Garrett to get the DC job.

Fair to say Nolan did not have to interview with Jerry. MM just named him the guy and that was that.

So if you want to count Ryan, go for it.
Umm yeah the GM usually interviews as well. Nice backtrack.
And McCarthy comes here a proven SB winning coach. Garrett agreed to be hired as a neophyte in training and did nothing to earn what McCarthy has.
There's a reason teams did not line up for Garrett, if they thought he was capable without Jerry's handcuffs they would have.
If anything Jerry gave way too much authority and credence to Garrett. Heck gave him teams loaded with talent so cry the blues for him all you want he sucks and the league knows it.
