I guess it is awesome when you are compared to someone you have out achieved in 2 years what they achieved in 10 years. I love when Cowboy fans still try to put Romo ahead of Cowboy QB legends. It is so ridiculous, it is comical. Dak Prescott who is vilified on this forum was 2 yards from breaking his single season passing yard record in his 4th season and has 1/2 as many Pro Bowls.

Romo with Parcells his entire career maybe (maybe) would have reached the status some Cowboys fans put him on. However, he is not the 4th best QB in Cowboys history behind Staubach, Aikman, Meredith, and White in that order.

If it is about stats then Dez Bryant 74 TDs makes him better than all the 88's before him....NOT!
You're opinion.
I disagree.
He's 3rd best, imo.

Romo never had the arm. But go look up some stats before you run your mouth. Go look up Romo's TD/INT ratio and see how that compares historically. Also go look at his 4th Quarter ratings. Oh, and of course, Tony's plays outside the pocket doesn't translate into athleticism either. Now with all that being said, Mahomes is far better than Romo was and his ceiling will be much higher but your analysis is so one sided that your "natural tendencies" cloud your ability to think logically.

People always bring up Romo's 4th quarter rating and stats, but call Dak's 4th quarter stats garbage. And when you look at it, both were in similar situations late in games, down so they had to throw. Go figure, Romo is a clutch 4th quarter QB, but Dak is garbage time lol

Get off this Romo choker/INT machine myth. His highest interception total in a year was 19, which he did twice. The first was in his second year as a starter where he threw 36 TDs and they went 13-3. Considering that he threw five in one game during the year, that's really nothing. The second came in 2012 when the team went 8-8, but were less than average all year. Never have I seen an idiotic myth get so much traction.

100 percent correct. And let me add that early in his career, Romo was an inexperienced gunslinger more willing to take chances. As he improved as a quarterback, the talent around him slowly eroded. Romo was the only reason the Cowboys of 2011-13 were 8-8 and not 3-13.

Welp, Mahomes being flattered at being compared to Romo turning into Romo flaming real quick. Absolutely not surprised by that.
Its not flaming him. Romo wasnt good enough straight up. We can make all these excuses after 2007 i said we would never win with Romo. At the end of the day I was right. You guys need to let the man go already

Just like dak this year carried the team to 8-8.

I believe Dak is the future, but I still think the entire 2019 team was good enough to make a run. I think poor coaching is the reason they lost to the Jets, Vikings, Patriots, and Eagles and that was the difference between 8-8 and 12-4.

As much as I liked Romo as a player and as much as I always defended him for all those years, I have to agree with you.

The bottom line is Romo never got it done and he played on some pretty loaded teams (2006, 2007, 2009, 2014). It wasn't always Romo's fault, but history will look at the Romo era as mediocre at best.

You're mad for no reason. There wasn't even any analysis. Romo ain't Mahomes. It doesn't take analysis to say that lol. Go look up how many interceptions Romo had his first two years in the league and go look at what Mahomes has in TD/INT ratio. ITs embarrassing to compare them. Romo threw 13 picks in 10 games his first year. Go look at what Mahomes did his first year than get back to me.

That’s so weak and untrue
But whatever

So Romo is better at Mahomes than everything I listed? Interesting.....

And you forgot actually winning in the playoffs...But yeah, otherwise they are the same player! Lmao. Why would Mahomes think being compared to Romo is a good thing? He is already light years ahead of Romo ever was.
Yeah I'm confused by that too. Mahomes accomplished in one year what Romo couldn't do in his whole career. Brett Favre should come before Romo or Aaron Rodgers.

I think some of the comparison is both QBs had the ability to make a play out of nothing at times. To me that is athleticism all day. Romo was clutch a lot more than not. You sure won't be hearing Mahomes compared to Dak any time soon. Unless of course they're talking about their shoe closets.
Naw man....there ain't no planet where you would ever compare Romo to Mahomes. Mahomes has been a MV and been to a Super Bowl all in the 2 years he's been starting. There ain't no comparison man I don't care if y'all want to use that gunslinger mentality y'all want. Romo's best years he wasn't even a gunslinger.

The comparison makes your roll your eyes because Romo never came remotely close to reaching the status that Mahomes has reached.

They're talking about game play not status or accomplishments in a team game. I don't have a problem with that. You could say some guy is similar to Marino because of being immobile and having a laser arm or Dak to Brady in maximizing production and having leadership qualities compared to perceived physical talents. Doesn't make them equal. Just some similar traits is how I interpret it.

Romo was arguably a top 5 quarterback when healthy even under the **** show of Dallas coaching staffs

It would have been neat to see Romo under an offensive genius / great head coach. No doubt he would have been more successful in the playoffs.

Romo's career got wasted in dallas imo but it could have been worse. Mahomes > Romo...generational talent
