I've never listened to this station because I'm always at work, but today it was stated that a reliable source within the Cowboys organization has relayed to them at ESPN radio, that the Cowboys top WR they are pursuing is Roy Williams, if not Roy Williams then Anquan Boldin or Chad Johnson.......

I don't think this is new news. The problem is that the Lions don't seem to want to part with R Williams. Well, at least that is what they are saying right now. Who knows in another week or two.

Maybe something will fall in place just before the draft?

The ticket also mentioned that whisper of a move for Boldin are in the works

IMO it seems that if PacMan comes and if Boldin or Williams are obtained for a 2nd round pick/ player combination, then Jerry will package those two firsts to move up in the draft...

Eh, that's just speculation I imagine. It's easy to come to that conclusion without any real sources when the Cowboys need a receiver and there are some disgruntled ones out there wanting a trade.

I'm not saying none of those possibilities will happen, but it's kind of like saying rumor on the street is the bears are interested in quarterback [ [insert prominent disgruntled quarterback's name here, i.e. Donovan McNabb] . Just speculation, not from a real source.

For what? Those two picks won't get nearly high enough to grab the player the delusional are hoping for.

If we do give up a pick for someone, I wonder if it would be for Boldin or Johnson. Possibly because jerry thinks he can get Williams next year in FA.

Could be leverage so we wouldn't have to extend TO, or at least to bring his number down.

Seems to make sense.

I know Hoof, he would have to throw in a little more, but considering the fact of him being a gambling man it leaves one to wonder what he would do if he gets his CB via Adam Jones and his WR via Williams, Boldin, etc...I would prefer for him to get Felix Jones and a young CB.....

Alot of people say this around here, and they're just flat out wrong. Two number 1's are more than enough to move up to the 5-6-7-8-9 spot in the draft.

I don't seem McFadden going to the Raiders or the Jets. Those teams have much more pressing needs, and once Mcfadden drops past the jets, the next closest team that might take him are the Bengals at 9.

I'm not in the "get mcfadden" crowd, but to say we don't have enough to get him is silly IMO.

Not according to the NFL draft chart

In would take our two firsts, our second, and maybe a player/late round pick

How do you figure? Please explain where that logic comes from?

Pick 5 is worth 1700
Pick 6 is worth 1600
Pick 7 is worth 1500
Pick 8 is worth 1400
Pick 9 is worth 1350

Pick 22 is worth 780
Pick 28 is worth 660

So our total two picks are woth 1440 points.
That is definetely close enough to take DMC if he drops to 6-7-8-9.

Remember these points are just guidelines, there not written in stone. You get a team that wants to trade out, new england for example at 7. You don't think Belicheck would give up 60 measly points in a draft trade?

I don't see the raiders or the jets taking him, not if there are still a couple monster DT's or DE's available. Especially when they're probablya thinking the same thing many of us think, which is..........this rb class is deep, we can take one with our second rounder, especially since they are early second rounders.

Again, I'm not saying I want McFadden, but I think its a much stronger possibility than some of you think. It most certainly is possible with only giving up the two picks and thats it.

I think Al Davis could definitely take McFadden. He would really help their new franchise QB I'd imagine. And if that's the case, we've got to include another pick or two (or maybe a player and a pick).

I don't think the draft charts hold near as much weight as they once did. It might be a ball park guideline, but not the end all, be all. j/m/o

Miami Dolphins Ain't no way Parcells take a RB
2 St. Louis Rams Stephen Jackson
3 Atlanta Falcons QB, even if the Fins take Ryan, they won't take a RB
4 Oakland Raiders Possible, but I think they take Dorsey, Gholston, or Long
5 Kansas City Chiefs Larry Johnson
6 New York Jets Dorsey, Long or Gholston will still be on the board.
7 New England Patriots* THey would love to trade out here as there isn't a CB or LB worth this spot, and we all know it.
8 Baltimore Ravens They just signed McGahee
9 Cincinnati Bengals Desperately need defensive help, but if DMAC is there, I think they would take him, but I could be wrong.
10 New Orleans Saints Just spent the #2 overall on Bush.
11 Buffalo Bills They got their RB last year in Marshawn Lynch
12 Denver Broncos You never know what Shanahan will do, I could see him take DMAC
13 Carolina Panthers Ain't no way in hell DMAC gets past the Panthers here.

The raiders, and the Jets. Both teams who could take him, but have other more pressing needs if you ask me. If Dmac slides past the Jets, I would bet money that we move up in the next couple of picks and grab him. Especially if we get Pacman or do a deal for Boldin,Ocho, or Roy Willams.

One thing about Al Davis. He could take DMAC there, or he could take you or me. He's that unpredictable.

I'll be sitting on my phone just incase though.

I think A Davis could take him at 4. He'd be a great complement to their new QB.

Agreed.

If DMAC were to fall to picks 7-9, I think JJ would seriously consider doing the trade.

I'm not sure at pick number 4 how keen he'd be.
