This was an important thread to start. Because almost noone on this forum was aware of this fact.

Getting rid of T.O. and a new stadium.

Life is grand.

If the Cowboys are a significantly worse team without TO, for whatever reason, I can't see a positive in getting rid of him.

Didn't know stadiums won games and championships.

Well to be brutally frank outside of the game with the Cards, we really only should have MAYBE beaten Seattle and only for certain beaten the Giants. The other games we lost we lost to better teams.

I guess I needed to put up a sarcasm smiley.

I don't see them as significantly worse without T.O. and clearly a stadium does not win championships.

not being the broncos, not being the lions, not being the bengals, not being the 49ers, not being the seahawks, not being the...

31 teams don't win it all every year, it's as much luck as anything else.

crying about it and playing the blame game is tired and it comes off as really annoying.

the fans here expect too much, and then blame the team for their own ridiculous expectations.

I can see that, but still. Some of those teams weren't the best examples to use though. The Niners, Seahawks, Broncos have all won more significant games than the Cowboys...that's kind of why people are negative.

what have the cowboys given anyone to be positive about in the last 8-9 months?

The return of guys like Felix Jones and Barber?
Young players who enter this year with a 1 of experiance under their belts like Scandrick, Jenkins, Bennett as well as a few others?
working to get Ware signed long term?

Dallas has some areas of concern we also have areas of strength that seem to get lost in the process.

These areas of strength have done a fat lot of good over the past few years and we just watched the team stand pat and draft 12 special teamers/backups.

Jerry wants to win with Jerry in control of football matters. If you could promise Jerry a Super Bowl win, GUARANTEE IT, but it meant he had to resign as GM and hire someone else, I truly believe he would refuse to do it. So, I do believe he wants to win, but only in a scenario where he gets the credit.
This is 100% dead on.

The fact that he's left himself at GM after all these years of failure verifies it. Any other NFL owner would've fired a GM with his record of UNsuccess since 1995.

Your right why be positive at all this team has nothing at all might as well not even play the season we can all sit here and cry like little girls.

As I said yes there are areas of concern there are areas of strength on this team and yes I feel good about our chances. If others don't well they can cry alone because I'm not joining in on the pity party.

I'd be thrilled to see Dallas prove me wrong, but it's better to assume the worst with this group.

We all handle thing different, I go into the season with high hopes and realize that if they do not play to their ability then it could be a long season.

I'm not blind to our areas of concern but I'm also not so negitive that I overlook areas where this team can be extreamly strong in this season.

Didn't you get the memo? This is a reality-free zone. You're supposed to be [strike]delusional[/strike] "optimistic" and regurgitate Valley Ranch-approved talking points all day long. In the words of Basil Fawlty, "Don't mention the war." Just pretend all is well and has been for quite some time.

They didn't address the biggest issues well enough. Glossed over the poor OL depth (yeah, they picked Brewster, but we need more than one backup), waited until the 5th to address any issues with the secondary, and didn't address backup nose tackle. They also stood pat at WR basically (though that's the least of my issues). It would've beenbetter go get an fe guys with more a potential to make a difference than to volume draft and HOPE.

I don't think you read his post. He said, "assume the worst." As in, take one extreme, rather than another. The rest of us are somewhere in the middle, more closely aligned with the likely reality.
