Jordan played MLB at 215 lbs. He went to 5 Pro Bowls, and made All-Pro in 1973. Although Lee Roy retired in 1976, he had to wait 13 years for the ROH because Tex Schramm held a grudge against him because of a contract dispute, and refused to put him in the ring. Schramm later said he had been planning to induct Jordan in 1989 (Jordan was a HOF finalist in 1988), but never got the chance. By then Jones was in charge.
Jones has inducted six of Scramm's players into the ROH, and in all but one case the player was either already in the Hall of Fame, or had been a HOF finalist. So anybody who would like to see Harvey Martin, Everson Walls, Drew Pearson, Cornell Green, John Niland, or Too Tall Jones in the Ring of Honor had better hope that the HOF makes them finalists first. That's bad news for Martin and Walls, who didn't even make this year's preliminary list for the Hall.
