2 scenarios for Garrett

As I said more often than not, but you also have to look at the Rams records, they could barely win 5 games a year for years. They're the exception..

How many seasons do you say it takes to properly evaluate a head coach?

To me, they kinda mirror us. Jeff Fisher was with the Rams for a good amount of time with unspectacular results. Once the Rams made the change, the team came around. Obviously that is no guarantee but what does it matter? We can move on from Garrett and suffer, yet another season, with no Super Bowl or we can keep him and see the same thing. Either way, he's had plenty of time and you can't blame the fan base IMO. They are tired it. What really compounds it is the fact that there were probably 3 games we could have easily won if the coaching decisions were smarter.

It is what it is but a lot of better Coaches have been fired with much less time on the job to show results. Heck, we have had three Hall of Fame Coaches with Super Bowl wins who have either been fired or forced out with less time on the job. It's hard to find fault with the fan base at this point.

They don't mirror us, they've Ben picking in the top 10 for most of fisher's tenure. You also made my point, you can change and blow it up and still not make the superbowl, or you could keep the continuity and possibly get back to a season like last season under the reining COY.

There is no set years, it's how the team progress, I say with the young players we have at some important positions this team is still on the uptick despite this season dissapointment

You must be trolling, "a season like last year"? That ended in a home playoff loss with hfa throughout the playoffs. Is that what we're playing for now, the playoffs? Sheez

why waste another season? can anyone tell me why JJ would do that if he really believes Garrett can change in one season?

Jerry and Stephen are definitely behind all these assistant coaches being let go and replaced. this doesn't seem like something garrett would do. which basically leaves two scenarios. either the team will go far into the playoffs next year, or its last year of garrett.

basically fingers are being pointed at the assistant coaches for failures of 2017. Jerry/stephen want some continuity and give it one more shot with this head coaching staff. garrett is officially on a hot seat, and not because the fans and media say so

Not even close
If we succeed this year then great, and btw anything above 8-8 will be defined as 'success' henceforth
If things fall apart, Linehan and Marinelli will. E scapegoats
Garrett stays

Not sure how I made your point for you but that's fine. I think that there are two things you can not refute here. One is that regardless of what you may think about Garrett, you really can't blame the fan base for wanting to see the HC change. The other is that a change at HC, with a team that is kinda going nowhere, can show results. Neither of those things can be argued.

Garrett isn't going anywhere, especially if Stephen and Jerry are the ones who fired and are going to replace the Assistant coaches. Garrett allows Jerry to play coach by proxy.

Even more irrefutable is NFL history

If he wins a SB Garrett will be the first HC in NFL history to win his first SB after his 7th year

Yep, Garrett will break this trend

This is significant point. Many Coaches, including a great many who have actually won Super Bowls, believe that the maximum Coaches should stay in one location is 10 years. They just think the players tune out after that. If that's true, then we got 2 years before the wheels come off anyway.

Nope
But the nfl is a what have you done for me lately business
I don’t see many ways Jerry will live with another year of no playoffs
Last year Garrett was a 10 in Jerry’s book but I suspect some of that shine has gone and another 8-8 or 9-7 season and Jerry will go for the next shiny object

Not to mention after next year, its contract year again

I don't see any chance of Garrett going. Jerry likes the team as it is constructed *regardless of record* and will likely ride it until he sheds his mortal coil.

What makes you guys think that this is all the Jones family and Garrett has no say in the matter?

Or do you all just believe whatever the **** you want and spew it out as undisputed facts? Seems like that is what this board has become so that shouldn't surprise me.
I think only the OP said the Jones fired the coaches.
