Trey Lance is trash. The front office blew it signing him. It's just a matter of time before he is gone.

LOL, you are correct, I dont get some fans ,its my way or highway stuff.

But those Dak critics are not mad because he become franchise QB, they are mad because his inability to carry the team to promised land. He is a ok/good QB when surrrounded by good talent (OL , WRs , TEs and RB[Zeke in prime]) will win against medium teams . But when facing good defenses who play smashmouth the team folds.

Now Trey I dont have very high hopes , but wondering there could be any potential hidden or he was just unlucky with injuries. If he plays decent backup role I will be happy . Then after this year we can take a chance and draft a QB high and prepare him .

No, not at all. A 4th round pick would have had 4 years to develop, not a year and a half. A 4th round pick would not have costs us $5.3M in year 4. In fact, it would not have cost us $5.3M including all 4 years combined.

I'll be watching the competition trying to avoid any premature impressions I might have as to who to pull for. It seems likely that there will be two QBs who will do their best in that competition. I'm hoping to see a pair of players who will possibly impress or depress those watching them with honest hopes for one to step to the forefront. May the best man win and may the team benefit from the results.

I think it is Mike’s choice. You don’t know anything for sure, none of us do. Not even the Joneses are going to want Lance as the next man up if he doesn’t perform well this summer. Jerry gave up a third round pick for Drew Henson in the early 2000s. Once he saw he couldn’t perform, Henson was gone. We never got a chance to see him play in preseason because he arrived too late. Jerry talked Parcells into starting him on Thanksgiving when Vinny wasn’t 100%. Parcels benched Henson after the first half and he was done. If Lance were to perform well in camp and preseason and is made the backup, I still believe the Cowboys will hang onto Rush just in case. They have to have a QB who knows the system and who’s won some games for them to fall back on in the event Dak is injured and Lance doesn’t perform well in relief. We have to have another QB as insurance we can count on.

Big Mike gave Lance a lot of praise in the Spring OTAs.

Because he likely knows that Jerry and Stephen have plans for Lance and not Dak.

McCarthy gave Lance a lot of praise because what else is he supposed to do? He’s doing what all coaches do, they say all the right things about players. McCarthy is definitely on Dak’s side. He knows he gives the team the best chance to win. The only plans the Cowboys have for Lance is to give him an opportunity to win the backup job this summer. There won’t be a change at QB1 unless Dak is injured this season. It’s pretty amusing how many fans want Lance as our starting QB this season. Lol According to Nick Eatman, Lance hasn’t looked very impressive.
