If Zeke has a 250+ game, against the Browns or somebody, then he has a shot. But if he doesn't have a game where he just drops 2+ games worth of yards like that, then no, he won't get there.

He needs to average about 132 yards per game the rest of the way to get 2k. I just don't see it happening without at least one 250+ game, and I don't know if he'll have one.

1. He probably can't because he got off to such a slow start. He's on pace for about 1600 on almost 25 carries a game.
2. He probably shouldn't because we should rotate Morris more to not overwork Zeke.

If Zeke could replicate this past sunday the rest of the season he would crack 2000 rushing yards on 274 carries. Obviously I don't expect him to maintain 8+ yards a carry but just saying.

Yes, it is plausible that he would have surpassed 200 yards this past week with 20 carries. Prudence was the only thing that kept him from getting 200. Can he, yes. No doubt. Can he do it without us running him into the ground? Definitely. The more problematic part of the issue is will the game situation in the upcoming games permit it.

If we are up by a large amount against a team, and there is no NEED to run Zeke because Morris is also gashing them, then why would they injure Zeke just to get a record and possibly risk the playoff goals to do it? Everything has to be kept in perspective.

If Zeke gets there, he will have to get the record by ripping off some long runs that get him the yards without an excessive amount of carries. If the Cowboys get him injured in a meaningless game during garbage time they need their ***** kicked. He is too good of a player to piss off in meaningless action by getting him hurt.

Right now, all Cowboys fans are wondering who Zeke and Dak are. We see what we see, but we're not sure if they can sustain it.

FTFY. :)

I believe it's real. Whether they can continue to do it through this year and then the next, that's my wonderment.

Might depend on....

If they want to save him for a playoff run and keep him from hitting a rookie wall.

If he starts breaking more long runs.

If we continue to stick with the run game and not start drifting more to the passing game.

If we continue to win TOP and keeping a lead or not needing to make up point totals in the second half.

Dez thinks Zeke can get 2000 yards this season. There's two questions that I have for the forum on this:

1. Will he?
2. Should he - that is, what if it requires an inordinate amount of carries?

I don't know how to add a poll, but if we could get a poll added to the thread for the "will he?" (yes/no) question that would be great.
I sound like a broken record. But ride this guy into the ground. When his body gives out draft another RB. I would like to see this franchise ride rookie RBs into the ground let them walk and sign a giant deal elsewhere. Then draft a Rookie RB. Maintain the importance of OLine and sign those guys long term. I say give Zeke the ball as many times as needed. Don't worry about a pitch count

Zeke needs a few 200 yard games. I'm not even entertaining 2,000 yards until that happens.

1. No. ( Morris will rob him of yards )
2. Perhaps, depending on how the O-Line continues to play & if it's required to win us games.

he had back to back 1800 yd seasons in college and we def don't mind handing the ball off to our rbs and he gonna have more 50+ yd runs, 20+ yd runs, he already getting a lot of 7-8 yd runs almost consistently ..... he keep running like that before you know it the news is zeke only need 113yds for 2000 yds !

all I'm saying is it cld happen.. mannnnn plus Zeke don't even know what all he's doing yet and he is a better player now than he was at ohio state soo...

I don't care about any silly individual titles. I would like him fresh for the playoffs and years to come.
If he does it in like 220-250 carries fine, but not looking to burn out our new engine. Don't need to redline that sucka.

Just my opinion, I know accolades are nice.
Rushing title, MVP, and Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl Champs this year !!!! Is that too much to ask for ??? :star::starspin::star:

I would rather start him, then give him a rest in the 3rd quarter then run him hard again in the 4th quarter if needed- Morris is a very capable back. Let's preserve Zekes carries as much as possible.

If it happens organically within the offense, sure, great, awesome. If we would have to alter what we do for some individual record? No. Shouldn't even be a consideration.

Zeke's carries thus far:

NY: 20
Wash; 21
Bears: 30
49ers: 23
Bengals: 15

No, that's not a typo. Zeke had only 15 carries on Sunday.

I don't want to see them wear him down by the end of December, assuming we make the playoffs. I'm fine with keeping him between 15 and 21 carries a game.

I don't care at all about records.
