Between Rice and Irvin, I'd say Rice was the better WR and Irvin the better football player.

As far as best all-time WR, a case could be made for Don Hutson but most would say Rice.

No, because RICE is the 2nd best of all time.

How man? I've provided stats, someone else backed up my claim pointing out he was up against a very weak division.

I'm posting right, it may not be the popular opinion but Rice is not the best WR of all time, and in my opinion it is a stretch to call him the 2nd best infront of Don Hutson

In an all time draft I'd take Irvin over Rice 2x on tuesday-friday, 5x on sunday and 100x on a primetime Monday game.
Romo 2 Austin;3250574 said:
I'll explain why.

During the 49ers peak, they threw 536 passes per season, during the Cowboys they threw 482. The difference in stats is not that much that if the Cowboys were throwing the same passes, Irvin would've surpassed Rice.
Romo 2 Austin;3250576 said:
and their averages through 1991-1995

YDS Team Pass Attempts
Michael Irvin 1991-1995 1419 482
Jerry Rice 1991-1995 1451 536

So is the argument still futile? because I believe in those 54 passes Irvin would've caught 32 yards
Romo 2 Austin;3250577 said:
infact you could make the case Michael had the best 5 year stretch of all time.

Put me on a lie detector, I believe everything im saying. and what do you mean final years? Rice played til 02 and Irvin til 99. It was both of their primes.

How old are you?

One played as long as Brett Favre, one played 10 years and 4 games and got his career ended.

Ya it is close, cause if Irvin played as long as Rice he would've retired last year? or 07?

Double irvins stats and they are almost identical.

Not at all. I'll end now, and thats only because no one has an open mind to accept that Irvin was the best of all time.

FYI I am 16, posted that multiple times.

A football team is more than one player. Those niners teams were stacked from top to bottom.

I'm not saying Irvin was better don't get me wrong. And I'm not saying Rice wasn't great. I just think this talk of him being the greatest football player of all time is a little far fetched, thats all.
