2012 NBA Playoffs Thread

great win by the Spurs.....I am glad the Jazz had that huge comeback to make them sweat.....gives them something to think about for a few days before their next series.....that scare was excellent.

As far as the Clippers/Grizzlies series is going.....the Grizzlies are absolutely unclutch....a total opposite of last year. Once again Gay gets the last shot and misses....3rd time in 4 games. Why do they keep putting the ball in his hands. He is unclutch and unimpressive. He is stealing their money most definitely.

I hope the Clippers win the next game.....that way the series can start as soon as possible. I do not want the Spurs sitting around for a week.

If Griffith could shoot,O man would he be unstoppable. However his strengths of getting to the cup and running the fast break are unreal for a big.

In the regular season. Key word regular season.

Ok, well in the playoffs they're 4-0 with a +16 average margin of victory and have never trailed at a single quarter. They must still think it's the regular season.

Why do you  me?

I was watching the NBA before you were a glimmer in your dad's eye... Hell... I am probably older than your dad unless he started late...

Once upon a time, the Mavs didn't exist (believe it or not). I grew up watching the Spurs... George Gervin, Billy Paultz, James Silas, etc... They were from the old ABA... yeah... I was around to see that, too...

You jump on the bandwagon of the Lakers and you want to facepalm me? When I was growing up, Jabbar played for the Bucks... but you probably think he was a career Laker don't you... and yes, I remember when he changed his name from Lew Alcindor...

Spare me your facepalm crap and grow up. 3/4 of your posts aren't even worthy of a facepalm... Save your ******* 17 year old comments for someone else... I have kids older than you... and I CERTAINLY have forgotten more about the NBA than you will EVER know...

Once upon a time before you weren't here (yes, this board existed before you), I explained my whole allegiance to the Spurs and Mavs... so do a little research before you affirm the young fool you are...

INDY 10 over Orlando
ATL 2 over Boston
CHICAGO 5 over Philly
LAL 6 over Nuggets

I am gonna take ATL at home. I am also taking LAL tonight.

Nice post although it partly comes across as an audition for Grumpy Old Men 3.

i dont think a lot of young people (and im 26, but i like to study the history of my teams) realize the spurs started out as the dallas chaparrals, long before the mavs were there, it was the chaparrals, and then they moved to SA and became the spurs. even after the move, the spurs played games in Dallas, until the mavs came to be

and i love San Antonio, but i wish they would have moved to Austin when they were threatening to when they wanted to have the SBC (now AT&T) center built. San Antonio is great, but Austin is a mini LA type city, lots of things to do, things to see, warm weather, famous people, and above all, BEAUTIFUL women EVERYWHERE! would have helped attract free agents. You would be hard pressed to find a good free agent signing with the spurs that wasnt a guy like michael finley that just wanted to win a title.

It was an empty threat to move to Austin. The Frank Erwin center is old by NBA standards(opened in 1977). It would not have been long before the Spurs would have been begging Austin to build a new arena, which was not likely.

love that kobe was part of a team that choked a 3-1 lead!

What an ignorant comment. You do realize he had a HORRIBLE team around him right? The 2006 Lakers started arguably the 3 worst players at their respective positions in Smush Parker (Not even in the league anymore), Luke Walton, and Kwame Brown who is well known as one of the biggest draft busts in NBA history. The fact that team even made the playoffs twice and went up 3-1 against a far superior Suns team is a testament to Kobe's greatness.

Kobe is human bud. He also had the best Center for a lot of his rings along with a stacked Yankee style team.

Every player who's won a championship has had a great player or two beside them along with excellent role players. I'm so sick of people saying this about Kobe. He can't win without Shaq how many rings did Shaq win without Kobe? Only one and it was because of Dwayne Wade and all time bad officiating. Pau Gasol never made it out of the first round without Kobe.

they say it because its true, kobe won 3 titles titles being second banana to shaq, and 2 titles with gasol when the west was absolutely atrocious as a conference. Duncan single handedly won a title in 03, kobe couldnt even drag his team to the playoffs in his prime!

How is it true? Kobe already proved he could win without Shaq. He won two NBA championships without him while Shaq only won one. Kobe took a horrible Lakers team to the playoffs twice in a row so how did he not drag the team to the playoffs in his prime? How was the West atrocious? The Spurs were still there as was Dallas and Phoenix. Those teams weren't as good as the Lakers. Also :lmao2: @ Duncan winning the title by himself in 2003 did you really forget about Tony Parker, Manu Ginobli, David Robinson, and the fact they were playing a horrible Nets team in the Finals?

Why oh why can sports disagreements never be friendly disagreements?

Oh, and why are y'all using wins as your stat of choice for Duncan vs Kobe? I thought we were finally reaching the point where folks around here realized that wins are a very poor stat for the evaluation of individual players - in ANY sport - after all the Romo/Eli threads last year. Oh well.
