No, they aren't. Last night the Big 3 scored 85 points.... Spares? not so much. Outside Chalmers in game 2 the Miami bench is basically non-existent.Miami spares are hitting shots, Lebron's the one that's shooting 39% and turning the ball over in critical moments of the game.
Miami ranked 5th in overall FG% defense but only 12th in 3PT% defense. Miami is great at forcing turnovers and putting pressure on teams but they are not good perimeter defenders because they do not have any depth on defense. Chalmers, Cole et al are not defenders. Teams that pass and rotate the ball get open 3 point looks.Yep, that's what the Heat are known for, weak perimeter defense. Don't let one game fool you. The Heat's perimeter defense is actually a strength of this team. Unfortunately they followed Lebron's lead and didn't come to play Tuesday.
Lebron guards TP in certain situations, not the entire game. Jordan guarded Magic, Gary Payton, Drexler and Kevin Johson in certain situations too. Kobe generally guarded the other teams best perimeter player, so what's your point? I thought that's what NBA stars do.
Are the Mavs and Spurs the only team allowed to employ such a unique defensive strategy? Is this his excuse for his statistically poor performance in this series and the fact that he averaged 17pts in the Mavs series? Not to mention his 2 FTA per game average. Heck he should guard TP the entire game... he aint doing crap on offense.

Announcer: "shot clock running down... Chalmers puts up a 3... it's way off"
Casual NBA fan: "man the heat role players suck!"
jterrell;5100340 said:No, they are not. But they had the athletes to pull it off and the coaches to teach it. Comparing what happens during the regular season to the playoffs shows a clear lack of understanding of the NBA. Totally different game.
No, if the Heat gets solid play out of Lebron they win this series and whether he has a solid game or not has nothing to do with the Spurs.jterrell;5100340 said:If Miami gets solid play around LeBron they will win this series. If they do not they will not. It is that simple.
juck;5100325 said:I knew eventually that all the hail mary threes would slow down for Spurs. Nobody can shoot like that nonstop. And finally Wade and Lebron took it to the hole. All Heat have to do is play all out and they win easy. Talent trumps it all. They give Lebron and Wade that 15 footer all night. That's an insult.
I remember that young Tony Parker going against Payton in a playoff game in Seattle and I remember how quick he was going past GP. I knew then he would be a star if he developed a jumpshot.Lodeus;5100024 said:

Biggems;5100693 said:Now onto Memphis, what in the sam hades were they thinking getting rid of Hollins? Yaeger, what is your take on the events over there? I am dumbfounded that you let him walk after he has steadily built the team into a somewhat title contender. They are only a few pieces short, something FA and the draft could probably have helped them with. I understand Hollins was upset about the Rudy Gay trade, I wonder if that had any bearing on his removal from the bench.
I am really worried about him going to the Clip show.....he loves a defensive style. They have the guys who can get it done if they put their minds to it. I would rather see him end up in Denver.
he's looking pretty good right nowGemini Dolly;5100077 said:Damn, When Wade and Lebron are in the Zone.
LIGHTS OUT.
Winner of Game 5 r your Champions.
Ginobili is done. Hes got no more.
Parker will brilliant in the 1st half, not so much 2nd half. Duncan was out of it. Bench wasnt as good as game 3.

jimmy40;5101144 said:the 2-3-2 format was stupid when they came up with it and it's stupid now. No way a team should have to win 3 in a row to protect home court.
Back to Miami now. Its goin 7. U can bet on that.zrinkill;5101149 said::laugh2:
juck;5068225 said:Spurs are unimpressive though now also. Clippers or Memphis I think can beat them. Nobody is beating the Heat.
