I knew eventually that all the hail mary threes would slow down for Spurs. Nobody can shoot like that nonstop. And finally Wade and Lebron took it to the hole. All Heat have to do is play all out and they win easy. Talent trumps it all. They give Lebron and Wade that 15 footer all night. That's an insult.

Yeah I never played, you got me... where did I say you don't pass the ball to open players?
Do you read your own posts?

Miami spares are hitting shots, Lebron's the one that's shooting 39% and turning the ball over in critical moments of the game.
No, they aren't. Last night the Big 3 scored 85 points.... Spares? not so much. Outside Chalmers in game 2 the Miami bench is basically non-existent.

Yep, that's what the Heat are known for, weak perimeter defense. Don't let one game fool you. The Heat's perimeter defense is actually a strength of this team. Unfortunately they followed Lebron's lead and didn't come to play Tuesday.
Miami ranked 5th in overall FG% defense but only 12th in 3PT% defense. Miami is great at forcing turnovers and putting pressure on teams but they are not good perimeter defenders because they do not have any depth on defense. Chalmers, Cole et al are not defenders. Teams that pass and rotate the ball get open 3 point looks.

Lebron guards TP in certain situations, not the entire game. Jordan guarded Magic, Gary Payton, Drexler and Kevin Johson in certain situations too. Kobe generally guarded the other teams best perimeter player, so what's your point? I thought that's what NBA stars do.

ROFL. Try making a salient point. LeBron guards the best player period. Be he guard or Center. He guarded Dirk at times. He guards Parker now. Other players do not do that. Jordan is on another level but Kobe is barely an average defender over his career. He wasn't a defensive stopper.

Are the Mavs and Spurs the only team allowed to employ such a unique defensive strategy? Is this his excuse for his statistically poor performance in this series and the fact that he averaged 17pts in the Mavs series? Not to mention his 2 FTA per game average. Heck he should guard TP the entire game... he aint doing crap on offense.

No, they are not. But they had the athletes to pull it off and the coaches to teach it. Comparing what happens during the regular season to the playoffs shows a clear lack of understanding of the NBA. Totally different game.

If Miami gets solid play around LeBron they will win this series. If they do not they will not. It is that simple.

Lebron James: "man there is 5 seconds left on the shot clock, Leonard is playing off of me and if I drive the Spurs might double team me, quick pass the ball to Chalmers"

Announcer: "shot clock running down... Chalmers puts up a 3... it's way off"

Casual NBA fan: "man the heat role players suck!"

Nowhere does it say Chalmers was open. He passes the ball to Chalmers before forcing the double team.

Lebron, Dirk and Jordan average more pts per game in the playoffs than they did/do in the regurlar season, while Kobe, Bird, Jabar and Magic (got tired of looking) pretty much averaged the same. Sorry but it is not normal for a superstar to average 27pts per game in the regular season and then average 17pts in a playoff series.

No, if the Heat gets solid play out of Lebron they win this series and whether he has a solid game or not has nothing to do with the Spurs.

Edit: I would also like to point out that Kobe Bryant, the average defender, made the NBA All-Defensive team 12 times. Nine times as a 1ts teamer.

I have yet to see the Heat put two games together, back to back, like this. I guess we'll see what they are capable of. I personally don't believe they can play two games back to back like they did last night.

I remember that young Tony Parker going against Payton in a playoff game in Seattle and I remember how quick he was going past GP. I knew then he would be a star if he developed a jumpshot.

Oh they can, they just have more important things to worry about like which outfit will they wear.

so this is an I slap you, you slap me back NBA Finals.....hmmm

I am changing my keys to victory......There is only one true key to a Spurs victory in this upcoming game and the rest of the series.....LIMIT TURNOVERS.

Every shot has a 50% chance of going in, as well as a 50% chance for a foul, or a 50% chance for an offensive rebound. On the other hand, a turnover has a 0% chance for any of the above. Even the worst shot in the game is better than a turnover.

I picked Spurs in 6 and I am sticking with my prediction

GO SPURS GO

Now onto Memphis, what in the sam hades were they thinking getting rid of Hollins? Yaeger, what is your take on the events over there? I am dumbfounded that you let him walk after he has steadily built the team into a somewhat title contender. They are only a few pieces short, something FA and the draft could probably have helped them with. I understand Hollins was upset about the Rudy Gay trade, I wonder if that had any bearing on his removal from the bench.

I am really worried about him going to the Clip show.....he loves a defensive style. They have the guys who can get it done if they put their minds to it. I would rather see him end up in Denver.

Hollins to the Clippers with a backcourt of Crawford and Bledsoe. It would be interesting.

the 2-3-2 format was stupid when they came up with it and it's stupid now. No way a team should have to win 3 in a row to protect home court.

Ginobili is done. Hes got no more.

Parker will brilliant in the 1st half, not so much 2nd half. Duncan was out of it. Bench wasnt as good as game 3.
he's looking pretty good right now

I agree, 2-2-1-1-1 is the best way to do a 7 game series.

meh. Manu cannot beat hard double teams constantly like he could even 2 years ago. The way he is being played now means he doesn't have to. He didn't see double teams and he converted.

Parker was beating the Heat guards on iso's pretty easily.

The Heat have no answer to Duncan outside of fronting him in the post.

Miami was shooting a high percentage from mid range. Wade and Bosh especially. They got a good amount of offense rebounds which they converted as well as fast break opportunities. They still lost by ten.

Spoelstra is a very good coach but there are only so many lineups you can put out there. The Spurs are very good at close out games. If they keep the turnovers below 12 for game 6, the Spurs will win.

Back to Miami now. Its goin 7. U can bet on that.

Seeing how badly you overrate the Heat I don't see how anyone can take you seriously.

Think the Mavs miss the playoffs again next season? I feel a 10th place finish coming on. Trading away Tyson Chandler. Nowitzki has a bad wheel.

Couldn't even beat out the scrubbed out Lakers coming down the stretch this season. Howard isn't coming to Dallas. :laugh2: if he does.

Good times.
