Look on the bright side - if we do suck this year, which is still VERY possible, next year's draft should be much stronger, at least the 1st round.

For the love of Pete, pick Alvin Bailey if he is still there... Dude will be better than anybody we've got there.

That's 36% which is hardly one player a draft.

But being a starter is different than being on the roster. There are probably draft picks on the roster that don't start.

If so, you will have a new head coach as well.

And in 2014 you have a line likely of
ware
crawford
lissemore
?

Spencer, ratliff and hatcher likely gone and if one is retained, it will be spencer and it will cost. Then you are FORCED to go a certain position.
Hatcher pretty much said this is his last year in Dallas on twitter a few weeks back.

Lissemore is all CZ hype just like Hatcher was for many years.

Crawford is still a coin flip.

Ware is breaking down. Spencer will be in his 30s.

This is in 2014 folks not 2017. Cowboys never look ahead or else they would see exactly what you and I see on the horizon and start stacking dlinemen.

Hence why their picks are instantly questioned.

It's true. But in fairness, the last three drafts have been better.

Odds are the team will be 6-10 to 10-6. I'd say the top of the bell curve is more likely than the bottom so 11-5 seems more likely than 5-11. But that's just an educated guess via the SWAGing system.

I wonder if Baca from UCLA is on their radar.

Radio just said that Dallas has the worst percentage of picked players from 2007 to 2012 still on the roster in the NFCE.

Like 17 of 47 or something around there.

2010, 2011 and 2012 much better.

Morris Claiborne CB

Tyrone Crawford DL
Kyle Wilber OLB
Matt Johnson SS

Danny Coale WR
James Hanna TE
Caleb McSurdy ILB

2011
Tyron Smith T
Bruce Carter LB
DeMarco Murray RB

David Arkin OL 2012
Josh Thomas DB
Dwayne Harris WR Shaun Chapas RB
Bill Nagy

2010
Dez Bryant WR
Sean Lee LB
Akwasi Owusu-Ansah FS
Sam Young OT
Jamar Wall DB
Sean Lissemore DT

2007 thru 2009 not so much...

That's correct but then you're leaving off trades, FAs and UDFAs.

This. Heck, theres still quite a few o-linemen undrafted that would be better than anything we have at the position.

I can't believe these radio guys even have jobs.

You have 1 guy saying the 49ers are in a great position because they are paying their QB on a rookie contract.

Nevermind the fact that they started building their team when they were paying the #1 overall pick in Alex Smith.

I honestly can't believe guys can say this with such narrow perspectives.

"Oh the 49ers are only in a good position because they haven't been paying for a QB"

Yeah, they paid Alex Smith like $60M in 2005 and then had to build from there.

I was thinking the exact same thing when they said that.

We waisted the pick in the 2nd round in the TE. If we wanted a CB should've taken the best one available who at the time was the Honey Badger...every day is a head scratcher.

Because Jerry keeps drafting projects that may or may not work out. Even if they do, it takes 3-4 years before we are it.

this is the main problem with the Jones' as GMs. They only look at one season, and get cute with some draft picks as they think they can "make it up" in FA or UDFA.

Finding Romo was the worst thing that could happen to confirm to Jones that you can find Pro bowl starters anywhere. As part of an oil driller mentality, the thrill of longshot is more appearling than a sure thing.

Hence Henson, Carter, Hutchinson, etc.
