That's correct but then you're leaving off trades, FAs and UDFAs.

I'm not sure if they included UDFAs but even so if you just look at it conceptually if we could've at least gotten two quality starters a year in the draft we would be better off. They were saying that when we took Bruce Carter he didn't seem to be a need pick and he was injured but he was BPA and he could turn out to be a really good player for us.

We waisted the pick in the 2nd round in the TE. If we wanted a CB should've taken the best one available who at the time was the Honey Badger...every day is a head scratcher.

Just say no to the Honey Badger.

There wasn't a chance in hell the Honey Badger would be drafted by Dallas. Josh Brent has a better chance of playing on Sundays while on work release.

I think you would have a lot of trouble finding a plurality of people outside of Dallas who think "Jason Hatcher" when asked about premier interior pass rushers in this league. Maybe I'm undervaluing him, but not by much.

He's going to be 32 when the season starts and has faced 9 years of constant double teams on the inside. I think asking him to be 28 again because the scheme changed is more than a stretch. One year is an aberration but two straight years clearly on the decline at this age is usually a pretty good sign the party is over.

I'll give Crawford some leeway but we have certainly seen enough of Lissemore to know he is an extremely average player at best.

Bottom line is if Ware is injured or if Spencer can't play with his hand on the ground (I think one of the most accurate knocks on him is he doesn't shed blockers well, something he will have to do every down now) this group becomes an out and out weakness. And again, there is very little quality depth to rotate out a group of players on the wrong side of 30.

Calling this group a 'strength' and ignoring it to add another TE and a 4th CB was a bad idea IMO.

I realize that fans outside of Dallas don't realize how good Hatcher is as a pass rusher, heck most fans of Dallas don't realize how good he is but if you asked the teams that went DT in the first round if they'd be happy if their pick turned out as good as Hatcher, they'd say yes.

Of course if Ware is injured this DL becomes a weakness but take probably the best pass rusher in the NFL off of any DL and it significantly weakens it.

I would have liked a quality DL to fall into Dallas' lap but there was no DL value where Dallas was picking. People keep pointing to Floyd but in 3 years people won't admit they were in favor of him. He has every indicator of becoming another 1st round DT bust.

As far as Ratliff, I still have hope and I think you are underestimating how much the change in DL philosophy is going to have on him.

The DL is stronger than the LBs right now as we don't know who'll be the 3rd or if Lee and Carter can stay healthy. Plus none of the LBs are effective blitzers. It's also much, much stronger than the secondary due to the question marks at S.

i hate the guy hosting the radio show on 105.3. is he the one who is a skins fan? he doesn't know any of the players that were drafted. why did they have to fire richie? :(

Is it Gavin Dawson? Thought I heard his voice yesterday. If it is then he is/was an Eagles fan. He used to host a show in Portland, OR and he dogged the Cowboys all the time. Then he moved to Dallas and acts like he is a fan.

Is going the small school prospect route a Tom C deal, or organizational thing? I'm convinced that we need a new scouting department. Not just coaching change, but a whole new philosophy.

I can't win this debate as we certainly could draft better. Just conversing to make the point to some that we aren't terrible.

Dallas should be drafting an offensive and defensive linemen every year for the next four years in the first and second round..

Dallas has drafted more tightends in the second round than offensive and defensive linemen and you wonder why the team never gets to the playoffs..games are won in the trenches, Jerry doesn't comprehend that...

So you want a guy who was drafted in the third and has to take weekly drug tests in the 2nd? That's the only head scratcher.

It's going to either be Bailey or Quessenberry. At least I hope so

the issue is age. All are on the wrong side of 30 and each are breaking down
